Not sure if you guys have seen this, but there is apparently a "This is Our State" song that has been written and you can listen to it by clicking the below link. I love our University, but between the coaches shows, commercials, etc, we currently have a ridiculous streak of "artistic crappyness" that has been going on for as long as I can remember. <div>

So it will probably be played at a key time during a close game to rev up the ol' fan base. I agree that we suck out loud at anything related to music. Whether it's the type of music played, the time it's played, or even the band's stellar selection of Broadway ensembles during halftime.

It sounds like it's from some community service mantage of Stricklin and the rest of the AD. I can just see Mullen banging on a Habitat for Humanity house, pausing to look at the camera, smiling and giving the ol' "come on down" gesture.

Way to show respect with a few throwback lyrics to his previous "desert island, top-five" bulldog classics...."The Bulldog Blitz"?
<div>
</div><div>PSYCHE.... I could have gone the rest of my life without hearing that song again.</div><div>
</div><div>But alas, he's a dog so I can't be too upset... I hope he/they don't try to force this song into some aspect of gameday or any kind of marketing scheme.</div><div>
</div><div>The only song I accept (a better wording may be "have adopted") as MSU's own ?is Chuck Smooth's "Who Let the Dogs Out".... at least a full year before the Baha Men took it and rode into the One-Hit-Wonder sunset.</div><div>
</div><div>I think they may have gotten ?out of order when I posted, but its not hard to tell which version is which.</div><div><span> <span> </span><span id="temp-0"> </span> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/m7TMOmxqgJs?version=3&f=videos&app=youtube_gdata" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355" allowScriptAccess="never" ></embed> </span></div>

Calm yourselves folks
@stricklinMSU: That song isn't affiliated with MSU Athletics. RT @General_Rub: @stricklinMSU song is a good idea in theory, but that song is terrible.

This is so %%%+@## terrible. I would be embarrassed to put this on the web if I were Steve Acker. Please, please, please tell me the University isn't going to use this in any way. So damn terrible.

County Line Rd? He had a family member that had died recently or something like that?

Chuck Smooth definitely ripped the chorus pretty solidly from Ol' Anslem, but that's nearly a constant in rap.

I wonder if Stricklin has an employee who is strictly committed to keeping his/her finger on the pulse of Sixpackspeak.yuku.com?

Or a guy whom I believe to be him around Christmas time. Tried to sell me some CD's and had a sob story. Told me he's the guy that wrote the Bulldog Blitz Song. Odds are it's the same guy at least.

And he got big before Marley actually, PLUS he was in Club Paradise with Robin Williams.

Though I was more referring to newer stuff... seems like anything now that comes out of the Caribbean is a mix hilariously accented rap with a techno beat...which is a piss poor combination (besides the hilarious accents).

The song is obviously awful, but what no one here has discussed is WAPT's reporting of it and complete inaccuracy in doing so. Could they have reported this story more inaccurately? The journalistic standards that were used here are downright unprofessional. IMO

Personally, I prefer the guy that did an MSU-centric cover of "Dead or Alive".
