Nutt seems to have a problem with recruits getting bought out from underneath him. I find this amusing.
Finally, Whitehead told Nutt he was going to sign with Auburn. Nutt described the conversation this way:
"Jermaine: 'Coach, I gotta go to Auburn.'"</p>
"Why? Why would you go to Auburn? They already won their title. They already have the crystal ball. They don't need you. I need you."</p>
"Coach, it's business."
Sounds a lot like Cam's call to the Mullens. Whitehead was pretty flaky and clearly playing the "highest bidder" game.

And vice versa. It appears pretty evident that Nutt knew as soon as Whitehead went to Auburn he was gone. I'm sure he knew he couldn't match up with Lowder and his boys. How awkward must it have been to have Nutt hanging around in your living room until 10pm on a Friday night. What would Jermaine say, "so coach you sticking around to watch Leno or can I go to bed? You know I have some travelling to do tomorrow right, and hey why do you think Auburn told me to bring an empty bag with me?"
Everybody has been critcizing Mullen's recruiting but he basically had CJ and Whitehead bought out from him and then who knows what game Brassell and singleton were playing. I could care less about Tobias and CJ appears to be a headcase but I'd still want him on campus.
Land those 3 and last year's class looks quite good on paper.
Granted a JUCO T and LB would have been smart to have had instead of Trapp and Maye and would have been nice to have Cox not mess up and get in as well, but I think last year's class was solid, it would have been great with the 3 other players.

and with a straight face brag about two Cotton Bowl wins and say how difficult it is playing BYU and Fresno in the same year tells you everything you need to know about him as a coach.
