This is such encouraging news if you're on the Left

All of you on this board should read it, because it's a glimpse into your future if you're seated firmly on the Left. So while you eagerly await Trump or his policies to fail as you truly anticipate they will, the floor under political foundation is the real suspect and you don't even realize it.

Read this if you're at all interested in learning what other Leftists and even the American people think of your near term as well as your long term prospects to become a legitimate political force in American politics. Very eye opening indeed.

I read that earlier this morning and decided not to post. I am really worried that libs on this board may try the same thing the lib did in NYC yesterday in front of the Trump tower, Thank God he forgot his matches.

I remain past shock by the depths they'll go to since they're now officially "unhinged" over Trump's ascension to power. Everything they've worked so hard to build they're either going to peacefully stand by & hopelessly observe its deconstruction, or they will simply go off into more depraved efforts trying to prevent it.

I'm entertained watching either scenario.

Same stuff we read about the dying Republican party in 2008 when upstart Obama won. The pendulum swings......

That's a fair point, but a narrow one. The dying of the GOP had more to do with national elections since the GOP was dominating at the state level (which certainly aids Senate and House candidates) and the concentration of Obama supporters were more geographically limited.

Also, another difference is the fact that the Dems have lost over 1,000 federal and state seats during Obama's term. That is devastating in many ways, the least of which is the lack of a bench of future candidates.

I honestly believe that a portion of that gain was flat out racism especially in the first mid-term election under Obama. Secondly, the Dems ignored their center as we have discussed here many times. Third, I think the feeling of "when is enough enough" started taking hold.....we were moving far too quickly to the extreme left. Finally, the arrogance of the far left played a part. We had to ban guns, had to allow men to use women's bathrooms, we broadened the definition of hate, hurtful speech, and hurtful actions to the point where we lost all opportunity for rationale discussion. We are always correct and you are always wrong seemed to be the theme. People got tired of it. Just like I am already tired of Small Hands Trump and his Mistress of State Conway!

I mostly agree with your post, but do disagree with the 2010 election. It wasn't racism. If you remember, Obamacare passed in 2009 and early 2010 when it became law. Many, many Americans disapproved not only on the Dem focus on health care rather than the economy, but because they thought government was becoming too intrusive in health care. It simply was unpopular. Secondly, Rick Santelli on CNBC railed against Wall Street bailouts while Main Street got screwed. It spawned the Tea Party, which wanted balanced budgets, limited government, no bailouts, etc.

These 2 factors were huge causes of the massive 2010 losses of the Dems, Imo. Obama had an 83% approval rating at his inauguration. Racism certainly wasn't a big factor in the 2010 debacle.
