One of those ******** even called into the post game show and asked Sherrill if he wanted cheese with his whine. The Kang had been bashing the officials.

I remember that vividly. They cut the guy off right as he said "whine." Jack Cristil said,"well, I guess that was a byu fan," or something like that.
That was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen, and the Kang usually would not talk about the officiating. He made a special exception in this case, however.
The honor code is fuzzy regarding throwing your trash at the refs.
That post-game crowd was the most pissed-off I've seen after a State game (Ole Miss '97 is second).
The refs were fine. For the first three quarters.
Long story short: that **** was rigged.
On the plane back from the 2000 game all the players were saying that the BYU players were the "most foul mouth buncha white boys they ever seen". This is coming from the likes of haggan, pig, and dicenzo
Was that the game they played in Starkville? I've never seen so many blatant holding non-calls in my life. Even Alabama wouldn't have gotten away with that, but they did (with their own officiating crew). They were literally ripping jerseys off and nothing was called.
Numerous times the crowd started chanting "Holding, Holding Holding." I've never heard that at a college game before or since. There was also a bogus unsportsmanlike conduct personal foul called on one our receivers for tossing the ball straight up in the air after he was tackled and a BS pass interference call in the end zone that set up a BYU touchdown. Those Mountain West refs really wanted BYU to get in the BCS. The next week Hawaii beat them by about 40 points and a BYU male cheerleader got into a fight with a Hawaii player. That was a good 3 hours.
