This is the worst hitting team we've had. No way we win 30 games.

I don't care who our pitchers are, this is the most pathetic excuse for hitting we've had. Small ball will not work either in the conference. The LSU's and Florida's of the world aren't gonna throw into left field every other time we bunt like Akron, Alcorn, etc. Get ready for a LONG season.

that we were hitting better than last year's team at this point in the year. Don't know what that really means, though.

I have noticed that the same thing happened last week vs Belmont when we lost. I'm assuming that they threw their ace too.

That's another hallmark of small ball teams- they can get blown away by really good pitchers because they know that we're not going to take them deep. We're going to struggle on Friday's against everyone else's ace. I wouldn't be surprised if we go 1-9 on Friday's.

And that's what I'm saying- we have too many easy outs like Thigpen, Collins, Frost, Brownlee, Shepherd, and then we have two true freshmen that our two of our better hitters in Norris and Bradford. That's never good when your better hitters are freshmen.

That will improve in the coming years, though. But for now, we're going to have to suffer.

we bunt guys into scoring position and get the job done there but at some point, you have to rely on the big hit. Like you said, we have a lineup full of non-threats. The bunts, the steals, the hit and runs, will only get you in position. It's all a wash when you have no clutch guys to follow it up. And it's very frustrating that we can't even execute against Iowa type pitching. I shutter to think what a Friday night guy will do to this lineup.

... is not good. You HAVE to swing at close pitches.

Leaving the bases loaded 3 times was not good.
