Too bad Obama never learned.

The Chinese are very, very worried. They have already done more to retard North Korea's ambitions than they did under 8 years of Obama. They will do even more because the military options scares the heck out of them. It could devastate their economy with millions of migrants flowing into China.

China needs to do more with their client state, North Korea. Let's see if they do. Ultimately cutting off all aid to North Korea and stopping the purchase of any North Korean products will put the dictator under tremendous pressure. People will rise up when there is no food to buy. The military will support the people since they are from the families being devastated. A coup is the only way to stop this mad man, unless Seal Team 6 takes him out.

"This is what happens"....What is "this"? NK threatening to blow up a U.S. carrier? More bellicose talk from NK than I've ever heard? Right now it's pretty much a cluster f*ck over there with military conflict (not good) probably closer than it's ever been. The goal is to get NK to rein in their nuclear weapons ambitions and I hope that is achieved but right now nothing has been achieved other than raising everyone's blood pressure in the region. Your victory dance is very premature.

North Korea has always been bellicose. One big difference now is China is more actively involved. Why? They fear a military confrontation. When Obama took that option off the table, it dramatically hurt our ability to retard North Korea's ambitions. You take nothing off the table and keep all options open. Not so hard to understand why.

I have said, China is more engaged. A very positive step. They need to become even more engaged and I believe they will. I am not taking a victory dance because Kim Jong-un is so unpredictable. But I will say, we have gotten more out of China that Obama did in 8 years and that is progress.

Right. You might want to tell President Nukem Till They Glow that China has a mutual defense treaty with North Korea, and anyone who thinks they "fear" a military confrontation with the U.S. wasn't paying attention to the last three years of the Obama administration.

Why does China have 150,000 troops on the North Korean border? Why is Xi so interested in deescalation? He now knows he has to do more if he wants to protect his country. Again, China has done more to reign in North Korea under 3 moths of Trump than under 8 years of Obama. You take no options off the table.

Are Chinese Troops Massing at the North Korean Border?
Was there any substance to the rumor? Not according to senior U.S. military and intelligence officials. There was no "massing." As many as 250,000 Chinese troops are always operating in northeastern China, and the U.S. did not see any sign Beijing had moved them closer to the Yalu River, which separates North Korea from China.

Telling the Chinese that Trump won't name them a currency manipulator if they work on NK was probably more important than anything else.

People, it is more hazardous than we may tend to believe. NK has a mad man leading without enough mentality to see danger. He has a lifetime appointment, and will have Nukes and delivery capability to use or sell within short years. China dances to their own drum. Do they have more fear of invasion of NK or slack in economy? With their numbers and growing strength daily, who wants to anticipate and bet it all on their direction?

Trump has either had a meeting or will very shortly have a meeting with all 100 Senators (House to follow) to discuss North Korea. They have his attention.

"Reportedly" "according to reports" they all refer/copy each other, no one could confirm it. Zero hedge is second hand at best but came the closest but provides a link to a non-english South Korean newspaper.

And it said the South Korean paper reported on those troops at the border.
