wins a few games. You would think that they never had a losing season ever with the way the motherfckers start acting. They come over here and tell us that they are getting this person and that person and that we are mistaken that any recruit would ever choose us over them. You motherfckers can <17> off. And wait till orgerons recruits start to matriculate out. Nutt can coach, but the sumbitch can't recruit. Why? Because he's a goober.

I have a feeling in 2-3 years, Nutt will turn into Cutcliffe part 2 and Mullen may at long last really start reeling in most of the top recruits in Mississippi. I just don't see Nutt being a big recruiter in this state.

talked about how MSU is the state university, as if Ole Miss doesn't even exist. When he discussed recruiting to the media... he kept saying I want to give hs players a chance to play for their state univ.

What is even worse I have had um fans at work that don't even know me personally can up and talk trash. I simply tell them that 8 wins in the SEC during a down year does not put you in the running for a National Championship next year and if they don't win the Cotton, their dream season will next them exactly 8 wins, the same as Crooms last year.

And saying Nutt is a goober is Hogville 101. Name a good coach who is a "cool" guy who smokes reefer with his players or whatever would qualify as non-goober.

I love how you say we act like we never had a losing season, which is not true, but you act like you've already won the SEC with Mullen.

... it is logical for you, after Mullen hasn't been in Starkville a week, to predict that he's going to own the state in recruiting.

Logic in action.

Why do you say that? Because that's what the hogville folks say? Check out the last two All-SEC teams. 12 players in 2007 and 5 in 2008 made All-SEC for Arkansas. That's only behind Florida and LSU. Yeah he just can't recruit.

But it's vast improvement over the last few years. And it's the Cotton, not Liberty, bowl.

But continue to pretend we're arrogant ******** if it helps continue the myths. Myths such as that we fear Mullen and are jerks because we say you made a nice hire but that you are going way too ape **** just yet.

that the some of the posters hate that the SixPack is not downing MSU 24/7. Y'all think the board has "gone to ****" once we start posting positively about State. Hell yeah, there is excitement right now. I dare say that a new coach is about as exciting as a bowl game in the fact you have 100% hope for next season. And add a coaching search on top of that.

Of the big 8 recruits in state: Russell, Thames, Bumphis, Boyd, and Cox are probably going to State. Hardy and Patterson are probably going to Ole Miss. Norwood wants to go to Bama, but if he doesn't have a spot, he will go to Ole Miss. I think both schools would like all 8 of those players.

I've yet to see a person say not named Yancy say we are going to get any of those 5.

I never really read it, until this week. I think the people who are saying that, though, aren't criticizing the positivity. Why shouldn't you be positive about a great hire and moving finally out of the Croom era? I think they are saying it because of some Hogville-esque hyperbole in the mix.

The same Hogville twits who say he couldn't recruit talk about how he had so much talent last year and didn't win the SEC.

But influx of new posters are definitely not of the quality that we're used to seeing here. I mean, look at the post that started this thread. Dude concludes that Nutt can't recruit. Despite the fact that since 2002 (that's as far back as Rivals' recruiting rankings go on their website) he's averaged the number 26 class in the country. No Rebel would say that the guy recruits like Nick Saban, but he's doing fine. Point is, in the old days you wouldn't have had that type of post on here. I hope the new Wii you bought with all that ad money was worth it!!!!

hogville this and hogville that how about 17 you and hogville you insecure 17. I and would dare say that not a soul here gives a sit about hogville and what goes on there and if we are turning into it then woopty 17ing doo. You are soo worried that someone may say something bad about your oach and school that you must must rush to every board possible to defend a man that could care less. Get a life and worry about your own house cull.

MSU fans were last year at this time.

If you have time to "hate" another school, you need serious help. Its college sports, not the war in Iraq or 'ganistan or the recession.

I dislike the over-zealous fans of both sides and all other schools as well.

....like you, so I'm not being critical of you, but what some Ole Miss fan says or does just doesn't bother me anymore. The only thing that bothers me is that MSU football has stunk to high heaven for almost a decade now, and I'm beyond sick of it.

Ole Miss wins a few before they get like that, MSU gets like that whether they win or not. Don't believe me, read some of Gene's or Rosebowls speculations on recruiting. Pick any year.

Mississippi wont get Patterson, and not in the mix for any of the others undecided unless your Norwoods 2nd choice. Currently Dale Nutt doenst have a player in the top 20 in Mississippi. Bumphis will be a good media sign and Russell has about got him convinced to come and is working hard on Patterson. Thames will be in Starkville as will Lampley.

I think you went a little overboard there. Did you read what you said? Are you really that upset about talking sports on the internet? Is it that important to you that literally hate a person that posts something you disagree with?

Someone posted that Nutt couldn't recruit. I posted some facts supporting the idea that he can indeed recruit. And you lose your fing mind.

Take it easy man. Just calm down. I'm embarrassed for you.

I don't give two ***** if someone doesn't like our coach. I go to Hogville to witness comedy in its purest form. It is funny because it's psychotic.

Your post simply shows you are exactly like them. Hilarious.

I don't even post on Hogville, idiot. You're the ones talking about him over here. You brought it up.

It's just that most of the posters that have been on here and NAFOOM for a while have logical conversations about football and good banter back and forth. A lot of the more recent posters that make ridiculous claims (OM posters and MSU posters) are new to the board. I have seen SPS referenced more on Chuck's board in the past two months than the sum total of that board's existence. More people are on to you, I guess. As to this thread and it's original poster.....come on man.... there are jackasses from both schools everywhere you go. No need to get your panties in a wad. I think Mullen was a good hire and the best you could have had (short of Petersen, who wasn't going there anyway). I think the guy will pull in some recruits for you that you might not have had.....most, however, you would have had anyway with Croom....He may get you Bumphis....good job. Can the guy recruit ? I don't know. We'll see. Can Nutt? Yeah, pretty well.....he goes after who he wants and he usually gets them. Does that mean that he will land the top class? I don't know. Probably not. I know Arkansas kicked the **** out of us and MSU for the past ten years and we stomped a mudhole in MSU this year, so he must be doing okay. No one is bashing your coach..... no one wants to listen to self-loathing....... if some ******* at work acts like he has never been in the endzone before, <17> him.... and before too many stones are cast, we had to listen to the same **** last year when MSU had about 8 pick-sixes to finish 7-5 and go to the Liberty Bowl...... the crap you have to listen to right now was spewing out of the mouths of many of your faithful one year ago. Damn.

it's just easy for me to ignore them. HD6 - he would rather have a group of 100 people posting but then I can't get the HD projector I want for my new media room that is being built. 4 rows of stadium style seats, the beer thrower that was on Letterman, and even laptops for each seat.

"he's averaged the number 26 class in the country"

It seems like anytime a number like that gets thrown around, someone always says "well, that means he's the 9th or 10th best class in the conference. I don't really think about that number one way or the other, but it struck me that someone was using a recruiting ranking in the 20s--something that usually gets scoffed at.

believe it or not, i'd take a top 30 class every year. you can win with that. are we going to win national championships at ole miss? no. are you expecting one anytime soon -- probably not. i want 7-9 win seasons on average. you can do that with that kind of class.
