Either the team has quit on Tony Larussa, or Tony Larussa has quit on the team. At the end of every season, Tony asks himself three questions. First, does he want to return, second, does the GM want him to return, and third, does the team want him to return. I think he and Duncan have done a great job in STL and created a demi-dynasty along with Jocketty that started with the trade for Mcqwire, which poured money into the organization which allowed Jockety to for over a decade constantly trade the farm and push money at veteran FA's to build alot of good teams. That doesnt work anymore and this season it was like trying to put a puzzle together with pieces from two seperate puzzles. Farewell 10.

Somewhere there is a 2nd baseman in the Queen City snickering.

or what is going on. But, I do think that if there is going to be a scapegoat, don't be surprised if it is Mozeliak the GM.

The reason I say that is because it seems like the biggest complaints in recent years have been that they have not been able to pull off some deals for players that they need. For example, this year they needed more offense, and trading Ryan Ludwick for Jake Westbrook has not looked good thus far, especially in that light.

And to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Mozeliak goes whether LaRussa does or not.

and it was depressing, to say the least. Can't believe we ran into the Brewers, Cubs, Pirates, Nats, and Astros and lost all 5 17'ing series. Those 5 series are where you make up games.

They're only 4.0 games out of the wildcard, so not all hope is lost... but the light's definitely fading and they have to get their **** together very, very quickly.
