and protecting classified information. Like any of the **** he says is of the least bit of importance. Same goes for pretty much all of these guys on the pay sites with these self-inflated egos.

I find him no more creepy than the ole miss fans coming on this board begging people to bet them about where a recruit goes and if quay ever plays. All you weirdos are in the same boat to me.

There is an art to reading Yancy's tidbits. You must learn to recognize the messages conveyed in the smiley faces he inserts. For example, sunglasses smiley = very good news.

on Genespage is that after the staff changed, Yancy lost his 'inside source'

Which could explain both the lying and the 'curve ball' comments. The ole "cover my *** with that 'I'm throwing off the enemy trick.'"

Been banned from the Spirit but 'Genespagers' have been saying that Yancy's been blowing much hot air this year as compared to last year's 'miracle' predictions.

Methinks his curveball is just a bit outside...

Is this really the best he can come up with?

  • We also hear that Auburn is coming back in the picture for Beniquez Brown and he has been giving some thought about going there this weekend and maybe that is why he has cooled on the Rebels as of late?
    • Speaking of Auburn, it looks like they have been working behind the scenes for Quay Evans, and if he does not get enrolled into MSU this month, that could open the door for competing schools.

Yancy's inside info only became relevant a year or so after Nutt came to Ole Miss. It has only been the last 2-3 years (and really only a few recruits) where Yancy appeared to "show up" Steve Robertson in predicting where a recruit would go. Before that, they were pretty much equally accurate (and may be again now that Nutt's team is gone). As much as S.R. gets bashed on this board, I respect how he describes recruits' strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully, Yancy will no longer be able to scoop him as far as commit predictions go, and Robertson will reclaim some deserved credibility.

the doc is a bear thru and thru, but I have become very close friends with him over the years....he too is a recruitnik himself, and he said he would be shocked if Yancy would even be alive in 2-3 years because he has such an addiction to pills.....now, I for one hope this is not true.....addiction is a serious problem, and I probably wouldn't have mentioned it had I not seen it mentioned a few times on the board....but to come from a young doc in oxford who knows Yancy well is startling.....

i guess it relates to this thread bc maybe this is what makes him so full of ****?.....

posters comparing the personal vices of recruiting analysts. And it took you all of 4 minutes to come up with your retort. I'm at a loss.

this doctor could be in all kinds of trouble if he has first-hand knowledge. If this is just something he heard in the rumor mill, then I don't have a problem with him saying anything about this... but if he somehow has first-hand knowledge of this, couldn't he lose his license to practice if he is releasing confidential information from a patient or client... or even hinting about problems or whatnot? This is kind of serious...

That's like saying Stansbury reads all of coach34's tidbits.

Or gene swindoll reads all of dawgstudent's tidbits.

Is this guy really this big of an *******?

Or is playing an ******* just part of his business model?

And he didn't have mass cancellations after a statement like that? Morons that cheer fancy after that is why there is a large market for miracle joint relieving bracelets and magnets you put on your fuel line to get better gas mileage.<div>
</div><div>And it's obvious he lost his source and I bet you a dollar to a doughnut it was Nix. He was just so spot on and beating everyone hands down as the UM folk boasted last year.... this year he is as clueless and guessing about situations as anyone. </div>

HIPPA only applies to a doctor who has treated a patient (from a strictly MD side). There is no confidentiality if you tell a doctor something and he isn't your clinician. Also, HIPPA does not apply AT ALL to illegal acts. So if I am your doctor and I know that outside of our medical relationship you are cooking up meth I have no legal restrictions on that information. This is no where near the same thing as the confidentiality you have with a lawyer who can not disclose anything. HIPPA only applies to medical information within a clinical relationship.

I'll say this.

If I were a head coach, I would have people on my staff monitoring the websites. In recruiting, everything is a resource. Obviously, you have to comb through the BS, but I think you would be stupid as a coach if you didn't at least pay some attention to the websites. After all they get unlimited contact with these players you're trying to sign. They get "quotes" (put in quotes since they're sometimes doctored), but at the very least you have another resource available to help you get a feel for if you have anything to worry about with certain players based on what's out there. You'd be naive to think that the vibe you get from a recruit talking to him one on one is the same vibe he gives to other sources.

I'd be combing those places for any bit of information I could get.

It's common knowledge that these "gurus" get a lot of their inside information either from a staff leak somehow or another. If you want any insight into what a player is telling another staff, that's how you find it.

Not sure if he is deep into prescription drugs, but he has always been a fan of them. I hope it's not true b/c that is tough addiction to kick.
And yes, I have partied with Yancy before...

if the dr. has first hand exp like you suggest, then he would prolly be giving him the pills too. If he thinks he has a prob he ain't gonna give him pills.

maybe he has 1st hand info being a friend or 2nd hand info from the rumormill.

but for anybody, doctor or not, to spread rumors about people's addictions that may or may not exist is incredibly pathetic. I have no idea if it is true or not, but this is way past "he's our rival and does creepy stuff in The Library" kind of stuff.
