Went to a mandatory coaches clinic to coach a rec team. The instructor shared a similar story. It appears a coach was selected to lead the allstar team. As some of you probably know from experience, at certain age groups, allstar teams are mostly made up of shortstops, pitchers, etc because they are usually your best athletes. Well coach took former shortstop and played him in center field (somebody had to play outfield). Fly ball comes to former shortstop(now playing center) and hits him in the nose, breaking his nose. Players mom sues coach because son was infielder and did not know how to play outfield. Oh by the way, player was also son of coach, who had recently divorced mom. Lesson, if you coach always take out the insurance, you never know who will sue you.
