Wait you weren’t getting curbstomped years ago too? My goal was to always finish second. It was like a game of hide and seek to me.
We (the guys I played with) used to be pretty good. Won a lot. We all stopped playing when they started drastically changing the map and adding all the goofy shít like cars and vehicles.

Fortnite is an incredible money printing machine. All my 8 year old wanted for his birthday, and talked about for weeks, was v bucks (Fortnite premium currency). I gave him about $35 worth, and we talked about rationing it so he would have enough for the next battle pass. It was gone in like 3 days- he bought the Snoop Dogg skin and then Messi dropped.
I’m sure they’re paying a fortune in licensing to sell these things, but the amount of money spent on skins and other cosmetic stuff is absolutely insane.

It’s time to recognize that we are old. Money making i.e. consumerism is targeting toward young folks. All we old folks can do is run for office, or get in management positions. Have to control the tide. Facts of life.

Hey now, y’all speak for yourselves. I was roughing up some Nazi fascists in Indiana Jones on Xbox right before I turned the CFP game on

My 14 year old will dump his v bucks faster. He's definitely buying whatever skins are hot.

Fortnite is what my neighbor’s kids played. I’m of the Goldeneye 007 into the Halo generation. Last game I really enjoyed playing was Skyrim.

I may be old and a nerd , but I still sling it.

Skyrim is a Gen X game and it's still going strong. The modding scene has made the game infinitely replayable and there are more quests than you could play now in three lifetimes. This is all because best Bethesda has no idea when Elder Scrolls 6 is coming out. So people are going to make sure that the Elder Scrolls 5 last how ever many years it takes.

This middle aged nerds Fortnite days are long gone. If I tried to play now I’d get curb stomped by some 11 year olds.
Me and my 8 year old got curbstomped last night actually, first time we’ve played together in awhile.

It’s a really fun way to connect with your kids, if nothing else. And if given the choice of my kids playing online video games with their buddies and cousins, or falling into the godawful TikTok / Instagram / Facebook void, I know which option I’d choose for them every time if I could.
