Hue Jackson did a good enough job to deserve next year... but another "brother" fired his ***. I find thatpretty shocking.

And the Raiders GM doesn't sound very bright. Hopefully, for Raiders fans, that's is just an afront.</p>

.....but I still would have given Jackson another year. I do think it will be easier to hire a coach now that they actually have a GM running the show though.

The NFL has the Rooney rule for God's sake and even a minority coach fellowship program to offer additional training to minority coaches in the NFL. Every year there are several articles about the lack of minority coaches or front office guys versus the makeup of the league.

Then you have a situation where you have a minority coach and they hire a minority GM. The first thing he does is fire the minority HC - now he might hire another one, but he might not.

I can't imagine the NAACP is happy about this.

I'm not saying it's not the right move for the franchise or not, but it is somewhat newsworthy in today's media. Granted, in a perfect world nobody would care and race wouldn't be an issue and I think in a lot of areas it's truly a non-issue or mostly a non-issue today, but there are groups that refuse to let it go b/c they're paid to make noise about. Much like many workers unions.
