Can someone please explain to me WTF this ref is doing and calling out there? Ive never seen stall calls and warning like this. Its truly pathetic
Ref knows he's on ESPN2.First let me say, Iowa has gotten their butt kicked. But this referee is determined to interject in every match. Worst over officiating on the young season. Maybe Paycom has a bonus for most calls?
He was outright horrible. Can someone please explain to me WTF this ref is doing and calling out there? Ive never seen stall calls and warning like this. Its truly pathetic
Agreed, both wrestlers feet were clearly still in bounds if my vision hasn't failed me.The block action call was horrible, that was going to be 3 + backpoints. Dual still would've been out of hand but Block looked great.
He seemed to call oob in another match where a guy still clearly had a foot in (although it had no impact on scoring)Agreed, both wrestlers feet were clearly still in bounds if my vision hasn't failed me.
Nobody is blaming the ref for us getting our *** whooped. WTF are you even talking about?Totally agree guys. If those nit picky refs didn’t make us lose by fall, 6 points, 1 point, Tech Fall, major decision and a forfeit. We could have stolen this one.
Godamn refs really stole this one from us. If only we didn’t get f****ed those first 5 super close matches!!
Then why bring it up? Made absolutely ZERO difference in the outcome.Nobody is blaming the ref for us getting our *** whooped. WTF are you even talking about?
First time on a message board? It’s okay to say the official was a total jackass while also acknowledging that Iowa got their asses handed to them tonight lol. Then why bring it up? Made absolutely ZERO difference in the outcome.
I have no doubt that Iowa beats tOSU in their next dual. Just have to flush this one and move on.It is kind of interesting that if Block gets the TD call and Endene gets his pin called we would've been 18-18 going to heavyweight.
He’s a well known PSU troll from the other board. He’s not here in good faithFirst time on a message board? It’s okay to say the official was a total jackass while also acknowledging that Iowa got their asses handed to them tonight lol.
Some of you guys are so weird with location. I live in eastern Iowa. He’s a well known PSU troll from the other board. He’s not here in good faith
It’s 100% why Block lost, and it likely will affect where he’s seeded come March. Ferrari battled through, but something flukey easily could happen there and if he loses, well now his seeding is affected in March. I literally haven’t seen one poster say or even slightly imply that’s why WE (the team) lost. And it wasn’t just this dual, Caliendo lost on a f’n terrible call. Does he end up winning, who knows, but that call was criminal to end the matchSome of y

there were bad calls in OKST too. But since we lost, several dorks are complaining about this tOSU dual. What about that takedown? That take down the wiped from Ferrari was criminal. Some stall calls were inconsistent, called one way, but not the other.
We wrestled in Tulsa Oklahoma. Some of you act like officiating has been absolutely stellar up until the dual we lose and then that’s when the post come out.
The “we’re not saying that’s why we lost” is BS. It’s exactly what you’re Implying. And anyone who disagrees as a Penn State fan or a troll. You’re probably the same dweebs that think Hawkeye football had a shot at a natty champ every year.
Here, let me help you:Some of y

What changed in those 5seconds to go from no td to a td? They were in the same exact position…The Caliendo takedown was the right call. Leg in is hip control. Always called this way with a whizzer and far leg in too which is same position.
Bailey’s stall calls were also correct. Can’t back off the mat.
I don’t understand the OOB call on Block. Although the angle showed you cannot see the oob line so it is possible they were completely out and then Block brought his foot back in. Would need another angle to say for certain.
The first takedown sequence is the one that really got me. I know they messed with "reaction" time now, so maybe that was a flash takedown under the rules, but Caliendo's momentum never stopped and he rolled that move straight through, almost like a lat drop situation where you are on your back for a very short time depending on how clean you hit it. I just never thought there was control for Locket in that exchange...The Caliendo takedown was the right call. Leg in is hip control. Always called this way with a whizzer and far leg in too which is same position.

Nothing, should have been called as soon as the leg was in.What changed in those 5seconds to go from no td to a td? They were in the same exact position…
No disagreement there. Reaction time is a mess and inconsistent. The first takedown sequence is the one that really got me. I get the can’t back off the mat stall calls. IF they are truly backing off the mat and not being forced backwards. What I disagree with is when the ref is telling them to get back to middle or circle and they are trying to do so, but the opponent is blocking them from doing that and then they call stalling. That doesnt make any sense. Also Voinivich was warned for stalling when we was in the middle and not backing up and even the OSU wrestler got to his foot/leg. It happened a second time, he was in the middle not backing up and this time the ref warned him and called stalling all in the same motion and he even got taken down. That is idiotic reffing at its finestThe Caliendo takedown was the right call. Leg in is hip control. Always called this way with a whizzer and far leg in too which is same position.

Every match matters. That early stoppage on the the block action near the edge could have led to a takedown which might have won him the match. That win and now loss could affect seeding in March. I for one, want all of the Iowa wrestlers to have their best possible chance for success come March. Then why bring it up? Made absolutely ZERO difference in the outcome.
They will wrestle in a dual and have many commons it's ONE match in November . It's not Feb 23 yetEvery match matters. It should be called both ways. I think it was the next match where the OSU wrestler was doing the same thing and not one stall call on him.The Caliendo takedown was the right call. Leg in is hip control. Always called this way with a whizzer and far leg in too which is same position.

How do you know they’ll wrestle in a dual? One could miss it for any reason, hell someone could duck it for seeding purposes at big 10’s. We’ve seen Tom Ryan want his guy to lose so he could have a better path on the backside before. They will wrestle in a dual and have many commons it's ONE match in November . It's not Feb 23 yet
Yep, if that was a takedown then so was Big Mo's off the whistle of his Ohio State match before the other guy managed to get out of harm's way and to his feet. I personally think reaction time is dumb and have no problem with a 3 and 2 (or 2 and 2 previously) since it's way easier for everyone to see and agree on, but that's not the way they've called it in folkstyle in recent years. The first takedown sequence is the one that really got me.
