From the Renardo Sidney fiasco, to the splitting of the student section, to the hiring of a new public address announcer (Sorry, but Hank Flick made the atmosphere at Buryball games. This new guy sucks), to the opening night loss against Rider, to the closing game blowoutagainst Tennessee, this season has been one gigantic disaster.
The sheep want to hang their hats on the fact that we had another 20 win season, and another SEC Western Division Championship, but what does that really get you? NOTHING. In years past, 20 wins got you into the tournament, but over the past 5 years, 20 wins is no longer a guarantee.
The sheep are happy with that SEC Western Division Championship, but barring a miracle next weekend in Nashville, that Western Division Championship is going to be our ticket to a #1 or #2 seed in the NIT. I can not help but wonder how long it is going to be until the SEC changes up its seeding format for the SEC Tournament.How is it that apiss poor team like us gets a first round bye while Tennessee has to play on Day 1? Sooner than later, the conference will go to a 1-12 seeding in the tournament and do away with this East vs West match up in round one.
It is obvious from watching the team this year that there is something internally wrong with this team. From players cussing each other out on the court and on the bench, to players disrespecting and cussing outthe coaching staff, there seems to be no control over these guys.
I fault Bury for the downfall of the team this year. Yes, we had injuries, but the injury excuse is unacceptable. This is almost the exact same team as last year, and we have regressed.
For 12 years, I have told you all that Bury is worthless and should be run out of town. I hope that Greg Byrne is true to his word and holds our coaches accountable. By that, I hope he sits Bury down at the end of the year and tells him, "Get some new assistants, or be gone yourself." Even though Kirby and Cunningham are both worthless, I can realistically see Cunningham as the fall guy for this team. In my opinion, all 4 of the assistants should be shown the door.
And one other thing.....I think it's time for Greg Byrne to tellBury to get his kids off the court, and off the bench. This team needed an *** chewing like no other tonight. I never once saw Bury light into their asses. Could it be that he does not want to show out and cuss his players like they need to be cussed for fear that his kids will hear him?
