Sidney and others have said that if he gave them incorrect facts, it was due to the fact that the time period of the events were 5 years ago and that he did not recall them correctly. To state that he is a liar is very bold, and very unnecessary - let your report do the talking.</span></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" color="#333333" face="Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif" size="3"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px; line-height: 15px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 5px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 5px;">

Why would that potential idiot say that? - what does he gain?</span></font></div>

at how argumentative the entire press release is. If it's supposed to be an official statement, it seems like all of that is unnecessary.<div>
</div><div>You've got the "players can't lie" with no proof of lying, and the "they took forever, but we responded quickly" directed at Don Jackson. Why bother with that unless you feel threatened in some way? If I were them, I wouldn't feel threatened. They have zero accountability. Of whom should they be afraid?</div>

The real question with that statement is this. Is it ok to receive "impermissable" benefits as long as you don't lie about it?<div>
</div><div>I honestly wouldn't be able to remember what I paid for and didn't pay for 4-5 years ago either. And at that age, it is quite possible that Sidney had no idea who was paying for his meals, he could have assumed his parents were paying. And, according to Don Jackson, the NCAA is assuming that if there isn't a receipt for the meal, it had to be paid for by someone else. Whatever happened to paying in cash? And further, what's so wrong with getting meals? I received plenty of meals for free while I was still in college while interviewing for internships.</div><div>
</div><div>An entire year for "unethical conduct" is steep when you can't prove the unethical conduct and when the actual suspension is only 9 games. </div>
