With all of Mullen's connections in Florida, why didnt we get more recruits from there? I know he wants Miss. kids, but we didnt really have many florida kids looking at us? Was DM responsible for recruiting the state of florida when he was there, or some other area?

and now we've had 2 Mullen classes without ANY FL players. I can understand him not trying to take a guy that he had been previously recruiting for Florida under Meyer but with all the players down there Florida certainly only offers a handful of them.

This is simple. The answer is Florida, Florida State, Miami, Alabama, etc. I would assume by the time the cream of the crop is gone, the remaining players are equal to or lesser than what we can get from our own state. So, if you can get the same quality of athlete from your home state, you should.

This is the real question. What was Mullen's territory. If it wasn't Florida, it doesn't really matter.

I think Hevesy recruited Georgia while at UF. So that was consistent (I believe Hevesy was the reason we landed Neal in the first place).

Edited to add: per his Rivals profile, it looks like he recruited kids in Florida, Texas and California mostly. But definitely plenty of Florida targets. There goes that theory.

It's not like we're going to go into Florida and take any of their recruits from them. But some leftovers from there would be good to have.
