4 runs on 2 hits....yep, sounds about right to me. wild pitches galore.

and fyi, they most likely arent inferior teams....we simply arent very good at any aspect of the game at this point.

Do you only post while we are losing? I gotta be honest man, it seems like you should really quit watching the team. I know you stated that you were "quitting".

MSU may not have lived up to expectations, but MSU is still a good team compared to most.

You're just seem too emotional about this. I understand it's your opinion. I guess I just disagree.

This is the way I see this season. We had a very bad start. However, since our trip out west we have been pretty good. Having the best season we've had in a long time with our sec record. Since SEC play, we have 1 bad loss to Jacksonville state (I think that is the name) and a weekend where we needed at least 1 from LSU.

I just would like to see guys like you that freak out when we get down to wait until Sunday to freak out. Even if we lose tonight, if we win 2 this weekend it's a successful weekend.

emotional? why emotional? im frustrated with the SAME **** happening every 17ing game. base-running errors, ****** lineups, piss poor "little league swings", fundamental baseball not being played...each and every one of those issues has plagued this team from game 1, yet here we are at the end of the season and its exactly the same ****.

i guarantee you cohen thinks we suck *** right now. im frustrated because the law of averages continues to mock this team. one would think, SOONER OR LATER we would come up with the clutch hit in a really big spot, but that just isnt happening nor has it happened throughout the whole season. i think its delusional to sit there and say things are going according to plan. based on what our expectations were and SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING WE PLAYED FOR THE NATIONAL TITLE LAST YEAR, this team is a disappointment. sure, the odds of us repeating that feat were hugely against our favor, but to constantly place ourselves in a position of success only to endure failure after failure in those situations gets really, really old. im a pessimist, this is how i deal with it.

Well it does not happen every game but I do understand your frustration with this game. I suppose I'm just willing to see how this series plays out before I get too upset.

and yes, at least one of those fundamental problems happens every game, no doubt about it, even the ones we win, so its not just THIS game. problem is, **** like this has cost us a shot to host over the extent of the season. we ****-out pass balls and wild pitches, ****** baserunning, and general head-scratching moves. how vickerson continues to see the field is beyond me. substituting one catcher that cant catch for another one that cant catch OR hit....i dont get it. we will have a lot of area to improve upon next season, thats for sure. you may be happy with 2/3 assuming we win the last two, but that is a big assumption at this point (you probably agree). now knowing we were 6 tries at solid contact away from at least tying the game, and failed totally, that might be the difference in the series. we have stranded an army on the bases and at some point, you get fed up with it. my tolerance for failure is clearly lower than yours.

us not hosting may not be a bad thing considering how ****** we play at home, but its not ok for the same old stuff to keep happening. high school teams are consistently more fundamentally sound in some areas than we are. there is no excuse for that. its not like this became a problem all of the sudden.

is the sky falling? no, but im not going to say nothing when there are clearly issues with this team. saying something about how bad we choke or how ****** we are at certain aspects does not make me a bad fan or a debbie downer. it makes me a realist that is willing to talk about areas where we struggle. the hope is that those areas will improve, but burying your head in the sand is not a viable alternative if you want to improve.

if we did something awesome or something clutch, i would be on here celebrating that. i dont enjoy talking about how bad we can be, i would much rather be talking about how awesome we did i assure you, but this team doesnt give me many opportunities to do that. some clutch hits here or there, some better baserunning decisions, some lineup tweaks are the types of things separating us from where we are now and from being a really good team. im not satisfied with being the 6th or 7th best team in the conference and i will criticize anything that separates us from being the best we can be.

^This. Especially the first sentence. This team = No Leadership. Missing Graveman, Slaughter, Ammo, etc more than I would ever imagined. Somebody needs to put a foot up our a$$. If anybody other than CT or Pirtle is up in a clutch situation, I have 0 confidence. We have too many guys that hope something good will happen in clutch situations, instead of making something happen. I want a bunch of guys ready to kick somebody's door in and burn their damn house down! We prefer to knock gently and ask if we may come in.

Coming in to this weekend we were what 3rd or 4th in the SEC? Certainly not 6th or 7th. We are not going to host this season but it's not because of our conference play. It's because we had a horrible start. We agree that this team has issues and they are very inconsistent. I just see this team very similar to last year, with the exception of very high end players like Frazier and Renfroe. Our pitching is fine and our ability to get on base is fine. Clutch hitting is the problem. We have Bradford, Pirtle and Collins who are clutch hitters, and thats it.

You and I will just have to agree to disagree on certain things. I don't think these guys suck or not very good. I think they are pretty good. I don't think we will make Omaha but I could see this team making a SR. And if we do make a SR, this is a successful year, in my opinion.

The reason our sec record is good is because we've played the easiest schedule we've probably ever had. Sweeps over the last place team in each division will really help that record. If this team was as good as everyone thought before the season, we should have won well over 20 sec games and challenged for the overall championship. Instead, we'll finish with about 16-17 and be a 2 or 3 seed in a regional. And since there are no last place teams in a regional, it will be a short weekend.
