Do you really not see that he's had to build a program from the ground up? Of course it looks like he can make some stupid calls when they don't work. You don't really see all the good calls when they do work. That's just the nature of MSU baseball and even basketball......whenever we get good at something, nothing is ever good enough. We approach it from a negative angle.....when bad things happen, it's so damn terrible, but when we do win......silence. No praise for the team during good performances. Only bashing for the bad ones. <div>

Hell I even like the guy but we are getting to a point where things have toget to anhigher level and stay there. This is his fourth year. That's four years of recruiting and coaching. If you can't get it done in five he needs to go. Hell we only gave Croom five and that was football.

i think every fanbase in america acts like ours when things go bad. it's just we don't sit around on other message boards, so we don't see the bitching they do, and ours is magnified to us because we sit on msu message boards.

My employer treats me the same way. When I reach goals and expectations it is usually silence and business as usual. When my numbers are down my boss is constanly on my *** and telling me to pick it up or else. I don't expect our fanbase to act any differently. If you think we should sit around and talk about how great our team is after a win then you obviously havenever tried to hack it in the real world, and John Cohengets paid alot more money than I do to win baseball games

All message boards have threads like ours from time to time, and I am usually not one to act all Genespagish about negativity on a message board...but it seems like this board has gone from a "realistic" message board, to an all negative message board. Now granted, when the team isn't winning it's hard to find silver lining, and I get that. But we have several posters that will literally sit in silence for 8.5 innings, and then go ballistic when we fail to score the tying run in the ninth against a great team, and then go on to degrade everyone associated with the program for hours on end. That **** gets old. And then we get the " I pay money so I deserve to *****" argument from them, and that's fine, but what good is your money doing for the program if you yourself are a terrible asset to the athletic program because you constantly talk about how bad we suck at everything to anybody who will listen? I thought BigDawg22 made some good points about negativity from fans becoming a cancer to a program. It sounds very sheepish, and may be, but what new fan, coach, player, or recruit wants to be associated with the negativity on the front page of this message board 99% of the time or the ****** athletic programs we constantly bash?

***** and moan on the phone with your buddies all you want, and even on here from time to time.....but it just seems like we do a disservice to the University we all claim to love by making the athletic program have to overcome the negative vibe we help create. Our fans are attending the games of our programs that are winning, and not going to games of our programs that are down. We can't do that as fans, myself included, and then sit around and ***** about how they perform 24/7. Our money is important no doubt, but so is our asses in the seats, and our optimism about the program. Ole Miss fans can be pieces of **** as we all know, but you can't deny that they try their best to spin everything in their favor and if anything it helps them in recruiting. I feel like we have a negative effect on our recruiting if any effect at all. Maybe I'm horribly wrong though....I know I am left feeling wooly as hell after this long *** post though, sorry.

Edited to add: I still like all of the sarcasm and **** talking we do amongst ourselves, and the fact that I can get in someone's head so bad that suddenly every one of their posts is directed at me. Here's to you MSDawg34!
