Nick Calathes enters the NBA draft.

Of course, not signing with an agent but he is just horrible to me. He is a sophomore. I will say this though - it's almost stupid not to enter the draft as a junior and see where you could get picked.

You can't enter the draft to see if you get picked, you have to get out of it before that draft or your college days are done.

Calathas is a very good college player, but if he thinks he's NBA material right now he's kidding himself.

It doesn't make a difference in the world if he's too raw, not ready yet, needs polishing, or whatever. All that matters is that one person has convinced him that he's ready. Guys enter the draft and stay in every year when they have no business doing so.

Yes you can, unless something has changed in the last 2 years. See the Randolph Morris Loophole.

work out with teams, get feedback from coaches, get a round estimate, and get graded on strengths and weaknesses. It is definitely a smart move for any junior and I hope Varnado gives it a go...as long as they have their ducks in a row and he follows all of the rules to play college ball next year.

he thinks he is going to leave after next year, so he should "test the waters" now in order to figure out what he needs to improve on. but of course, that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is not a complete idiot.

the um fans are saying the same about terrico white - that he may declare. the only logical explanation there is the same - that he thinks he'll be going pro after next year. i don't know about that, but whatever...

True, but I like the idea of Calathes and Boynton over Boynton and Walker.

There's a chance he could come back. I doubt that he will go any higher than the 3rd round.</p>[/quote]

He Chief, there are only two rounds.

no way in hell he is successful in the pros at this point, he would go undrafted
