I guess during the Summer sometimes you just have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for guests. May not be doable but given Jesse Palmer is so high on us this year you guys ought to see if he would do a phone interview with you.

Pretty good interview - all things considered. The only thing I objected to was his response to the question about his comments on ATL radio about State: (paraphrasing) "I don't even know what I was saying. I meant to say OM had more elite talent than State." But, he didn't, and in fact never answered the Arkansas comparison question Hadad asked.
I don't really object to him saying OM has more elite talent (I can live w/ Quon and Tunsil), but their overall talent is no better, depth wise. My deal is him slighting State last week, then backing off his comments on the interview yesterday and acting like he didn't even remember saying it. Anyone knows our talent is superior to Arkansas', but he (and Hugh) goes out of his way to slight State by spewing ******** like that, then not owning up to it when called out on it.

Since that's the case and if you're answering questions, my State buddy believes that Dak would be a better option than Bo Wallace on if Dak and Bo both played for Ole Miss. I disagreed (as will most everyone on this board) and said Dak definitely fits Mullen's system better than Bo, but that Bo fits Freeze's system better than Dak.

I tried to give Barrette a fair shake. I just couldn't agree with anything he said until the 4-8 comment. He finally got off the cloud and was a little more realistic.
I disagreed with his 7-5 prediction because the three toss-ups are all winnable (as if Auburn will be better than last year and MSU will be better at all phases of the game). His comment on Florida hire. His comment MSU not having high end talent. They all made me say that this guy talks a good game but his arguments are vacuous.

I agree, it was a good interview - I enjoyed it. However, I was also disappointed that he shifted the ARK question to OM. I was surprised that there wasn't a follow up discussion/question(s) to reiterate that he said Arkansas and not OM. And also agreed, he didn't answer the question.
Good interview and I always like listening to you guys, and most things on bsr for that matter. I do wish y'all would 'debate' more with people that come in and have different views or feelings than y'all do on this season. I know y'all didn't agree with everything he said so it'd have been entertaining to have y'all go back and forth with your reasons why the other was wrong. I guess that's why we have Matt and Dick.
Yea, if we go 7-5 then it will mean we will have had a disappointing year. We would have to lose to LSU, Aub and AL which would not be unexpected but we would also have to lose to OM and to what should be a marginal A&M team at home. To be blount to go 7-5 with only wins over our 4 lackluster OOC foes plus KY, Ark and Vandy means we will likely not have beaten one quality team all year and that would be quite the disappointment. 8-4 should be our floor on expectations with 10-2 probably being best case which means splitting the AL, LSU, AUB and OM games. To predict us at 7-5 was just a backhanded jab at us by Sallee IMO. But we don't have enough "top end talent" to suit him (i.e. 4 or 5 stars coming out of HS). Guys on college watch lists or guys projected in the first couple of rounds in the NFL draft don't matter to him if they didn't get the big time accolades coming out of high school.
I disagreed about Auburn and him saying 7-5. I don't think it was "heard" b/c I talked over Barrett. It was just short comments though.
I think you misunderstood, or possibly I did, because while he did say 7-5 was the most likely result I believe he was asked if it was more likely for MSU to go 10-2 or 4-8 and I thought he said 10-2. Pretty sure he said he would be shocked if we went 4-8 as would most everyone else as well.
