My brother had his first child in 2019, but if they go by the 2018 he wouldn’t show up. Wonder how that will work BC it’d be a stupid law if your child has to be at least 15 mos old to qualify.

They have all gotten so rich being in office with their shady *** dealings it wouldn’t hurt any of them. True evil when one is called to serve and they work solely in their own interests.

If a bill is meant to help those who have lost their job/business/cant work due to the government shutting down their industry, then money should go to those people/businesses.
Someone who voluntarily removed themselves from the workplace prior to this outbreak has not had their job lost work suspended. They wouldnt be part of the group that is assisted with an assistance bill.

Similarly, I shouldn't be part of this bill since I am still able to work.

...but if the point of the bill isnt just to assist those whose work has been affected, then gove money to everyone and let em spend it on whatever to help businesses out n whatnot.

Edited for TGIF but your blanket statement about getting a monthly just don't apply to everyone and everything. I'm not going to give you the reasons but I had to quit working two jobs in 2018.

You just make it sound like the fact that I will still get my disability check means this won't affect my family.

Sorry, Mister Kah - tehr, but I've had near 50 years of life and work experience in the markets and with the legislature.
The facts and the behaviors or our political and economic system are what they are.
The market sell off over Covid 19 was more convenience than crisis.
But we are about to enter crisis territory and they all know it.
Both sides will posture and spin for the upcoming election, then they'll get something done where there will be the usual winners and losers.
It's just the business of politics. Let's see whose ox gets gored when it's all over.

I don't think anyone who considers himself fiscally responsible is comfortable with handouts. I was 1000% against the bailouts in 2008 because many of those corporations brought the crisis onto themselves. But this is different. I just don't see how the government, for example, can tell people to stop traveling and then allow the major airlines and hotel chains to go bankrupt as a result. It would be different if their mismanagement led to it.

The ultimate goal of this is to fund companies so they can keep employees on payroll while they aren't working. We're going to pony up somewhere - it's either now in the form of a stimulus, or later in massive unemployment, lost retirement, and a prolonged depression. They're trying to lay the groundwork for an immediate economic rebound. I really try not to be cynical, but an immediate economic rebound is not in the best interest of democrats who are dying to see this president fail six months before an election.

In my opinion, Democrats in Congress will sacrifice anything (e.g., jobs, lives, health, the economy, etc.) to improve their chances of getting President Trump voted out.

... and the gop would BE DOING THE SAME 17n THING if Hilary were in office.

Both sides use crisis to move political agendas to think other wise is naive. it’s called politics.

Just like ole miss always cheats whatever side you don’t like is going to be the bad guy

I feel that republicans are ready to sacrifice anything

(lives, the environment, the free press) to keep this incompetent **** stain in office.
