i think the beef club goes all of the way back to Bob D. Ranchers were asked to donate one beef each year to be used for the training table. I don't know when it ended. Anyone on here participate in that program?
Nope. But I do donate a beef to the lunch program back home. Something had to be done to supplement what has been passing for a school 'lunch". No way kids that are active before and after school in sports and farming activities should have to starve on that crap.
All of the outside booster clubs have been absorbed by the athletic department and basically don't exist anymore. The Rebounders Club, Beef Club, Home Run Club, Wheel Club, etc.
So how exactly did it work? Did the university come pick up the animal, or did the person donating have to deliver it? Then did the university send it to a packing house, or could meat be processed over at east campus? Were only the good cuts used, and the not so good cuts ground up and sent over to the dorms for their kitchens? Serious questions, I always wondered about how the beef was handled.
