This Year's State Tournament Teams

All four regional championship games will be played tomorrow night, so the state quarterfinals will be set after that. I correctly picked 6 of the 8 state teams, with Lancaster and George Wythe being the two I missed on. Here are the 8 teams that will be competing for the Class 1 state championship,

Region A: Colonial Beach, Mathews
Region B: Riverheads, Sussex
Region C: Auburn, Parry McCluer
Region D: Grundy, Eastside

I look for some good regional championship games tomorrow night and I've said it before, but this is the most wide open that I've seen it in many years. Honestly any of the teams could win it. It just depends on matchups and what team is on that particular night.

Heading to Southwest tmar to watch Grundy and Eastside.

Grundy loses tomorrow and then beats them in the state semis. We get a wrestling rematch in the finals between Riverheads and Grundy.

Grundy gets their first state title that doesn’t involve a mat on March 12th.

I'll do my state predictions sometime over the weekend after the bracket is set. It's going to be a good state tournament

Agreed. I was a few beers deep and just throwing crap against the wall with that post last night.

I wonder if all the host sites for first round are NFHS ready?
