Thomasville is a great job.Not a jab at anybody in particular, but I find it interesting that the three most likely candidates were collectively 8-25 last year.

It can be. Whoever gets it will need to recruit the halls, rebuild the boosters club and get out into the community. Work the businesses and civic clubs. X’s and O’s for sure, but PR skills are critical.Thomasville is a great job.
To be fair the AD is a Winston guy I believe, so it wouldn't be too far off. Clay would be a great though, we played together in little league and middle. He might bring them back but Thomasville is not the same as it was when were in school. That there isn’t anyone from Forsyth County. Crystal Ball says Trivett. He’s going to bring them back from being a below average program.
It was when Thomasville furniture was around. The town is dead compared to what it used to be.Thomasville is a great job.
The AD coached basketball at Lexington, Thomasville and Ragsdale. Had a short stint at Parkland as AD. The superintendent, principal and most of the other new hires in administration are products of Forsyth County. To be fair the AD is a Winston guy I believe, so it wouldn't be too far off. And I don’t think a single one was ever involved in athletics in WSFCS.The superintendent, principal and most of the other new hires in administration are products of Forsyth County.
The last search committee had no one who had ever hired a high school football coach. This time they have at least one football coach. But your statement is correct. And not sure any member of the school board played sports, much less football. And I don’t think a single one was ever involved in athletics in WSFCS.

I believe we’d have to secure the first to have a chance at the second.I just hope we aren't right back here in two or 3 years speculating on who's next as what the program needs is a consistent coach and a consistent supportive community. I hate to sound like the debbie downer and I'm going to support either way because i'm a bulldog to and through but I don't believe we are getting a committed coach or a supportive community
They did great with what they had. However, coach Robertson couldn't win a conference championship or playoff game... then left for Page. Coach Gillespie couldn't win the conference ether, lost in the 3rd round against good teams and retired. No furniture during Doug Robertson Coach G days and Bulldogs did great. Just a couple years ago. You get a good young coach and things will turn around fast.
Yeah! I heard that a name was brought to the board tonight!! We should be seeing who the man in charge of Bulldog nation is soon!Time to get behind your new coach. I am sure they will hire someone with experience. The process of interviewing was much better this time around.
Good to have you back, Nut. We missed you last season.Good luck to Thomasville. I'm very interested to see where this goes and hope the Bulldogs can get back on track.
...
Good to be back. Hope you've all been well, gentlemen.
Coach K was a risky hire too. But I don’t believe any names perviously mentioned have that kind of potential. Guess we’ll see. But I can guarantee that, if he doesn’t get out into the community and be visible, he won’t be successful long term.Predict this will not be flashy but will long term be the best one in a long while. Remember history with the hiring of Dean Smith In the beginning.
Put us out of our misery, who is it? lol...3 choices...Bulldog nation needs to look behind the win loss record before judgment.
I don’t disagree. But until two years ago, the top candidates had the necessary qualifications as program rebuilders, well as the history of wins and losses. Unfortunately, in two years, the attractiveness of the job has dropped significantly.Bulldog nation needs to look behind the win loss record before judgment.
Robertson and Gillespie were very attractive candidates in my opinion. Along with the two time state championship coach who applied but lost out to Robertson.i think the attractiveness of it has been declining well longer than two years but other than that I agree. Saying look beyond the win loss record is kind of crazy considering that's why we are here. but i'll hold off
Attractive programs draw interest from attractive and accomplished coaches. I’d suggest asking the eleven coaches who left in a year why they left. I think you’ll find some common ground.Attractive coaches and attractive programs are tw
o separate things. If it was as attractive as it had been, maybe just maybe one of them would still be there? Thomasville is just a couple decisions away from being High Point Central and as much as we want to put it all on the previous coach or the current school board, it started prior to any of them. Which is also why there was so many Thomasville players on surrounding schools rosters, they didnt leave because of anyone there now just like some of these coaches we are wanting aren't applying and it has absolutely nothing to do with the board(i've heard it out of some of their own mouths) this isnt my opinion.

Because they know Thomasville going downhill. Lack of money going into the school and they don't want to be bothered with inner city kids. Everything going into the private and county schools.Attractive programs draw interest from attractive and accomplished coaches.
