it was going down hill prior to the current school board. I dont like the school board either, but this has been a long time coming. Those who really know me can probably tell you i've been calling this for nearly or over 10 years now and saying we would be exactly where we are today. I even said exactly what would happen if George was fired. I jokingly said the week after christmas this year before i realized that George was out that the current hire would be the coach this year because of somethings I observed at the southern/Thomasville basketball game lol. This collapse doesnt start at the high school level, it starts well below that. When the little league program collapsed years back, the writing was on the wall. These kids are getting to high school and having to learn fundementals as they aren't being properly taught prior. I know someone is going to get on here and say "well the middle school had a decent season", I encourage you to go check them out> Find you a nice saturday morning and go checkout the rec team. This isn't to put all the heat on the youth coaches either, the quality of athlete in the area is far from the same as it used to be and the ones that are really good, sometimes it's hard to get them on the field or if you do get them on the field, its hard to keep them in red, black and white. Look at some of the athletes on the surrounding schools in the 336 and even 704, some of those are thomasville kids and they left before the school board took over so to put the entire blame on the school board, admin or even a coach is a stretch.
Been wondering about the little league program. You can tell many of the players act like they just started football in high school or something. Seen too many fundamental mistakes with blocking, holding onto the ball, and tackling, special teams etc. Its gone on for years since coach Robertson and earlier.
