Thomasville loses to West Davidson for the FIRST TIME in history. I hate to say it, but the program has reached a new low. I believe at this point you have to look for a new coach to take over the program. Sad that Thomasville football has fallen off this far in only a year.
I called it last week they won’t beat south Davidson either or any team they play. But to lose to west Davidson for the first time in history is crazy 🤦 what an embarrassment to the program. To all the people that still support this coach what excuses do you have now ?

Perfect example of what happens when folks who have zero clue about football or what it takes to be successful hire a football coach.

The offensive scheme that he tried to install, a version of the wing-T is awful. Then he'll throw 4 wide receivers on the field if there is no threat you can complete a pass. Failing to make your schemes fit your players is on the coach, not being able to get 11 men on the field is on the coach & staff.

Bottom line is when you hire an unqualified candidate this is what happens. No different with any other job out there.

How do you struggle that badly to keep 11 men on the field each week.

In my mind there’s no way we lose to South, but anything is possible at this point. Probably going to lose against East and Lexington. This season is probably on par with 2014-2015 season.
I think we’ll beat South and East, but depends partly on the ejections. Lexington, not likely.

I doubt thomasville has a chance to make playoffs this year but what is the rule on total ejections that would disqualify you from playoffs

I’m confused. Someone on here said that Thomasville’s quarterback is a freshman. Also heard that the quarterback was one of Thomasville’s three ejections at the end of the game. Can you clarify all that?
They have a freshman quarterback that started against West. The junior quarterback started in all the games up until the North Rowan game. Pretty sure he got injured in the Salisbury game.

It's pretty clear that they were looking for something other than a capable, skilled and even remotely able head coach. My confusion is what is in they were trying to accomplish with this hire. Is the head coach a former student or something?
Tore his acl
Is this the tall kid that plays basketball? sad when a kid hurts themselves like that.

The coach is from Florida and was an assistant here for two years. Not a good ole boy hire. At least not in the traditional sense.

Ah, but what do you mean “not in the traditional sense”? Feels like deliberate wording 😬

There's a lot of lines to read between when you see the entire coaching staff left from every major sport. Lost some good coaches, particularly in basketball, it appears.
In addition to the superintendent leaving shortly after the election of the school board.

Really? So, to be clear, in a year after which most sports programs were successful at the school, post school board election you lost the entire leadership (superintendent, all principles), football coaches, girls basketball, and a men’s basketball coach that is the most decorated and successful coach in Thomasville in more than a hot minute and is also knocking down societal barriers? How is that even possible? Football seems to be doing pretty bad, we don’t know about basketball yet but I find it hard to believe that there won’t be a drop off in the men’s program. It feels dicey over there.

How does that happen that fast?

Men's basketball will more than likely have success under trey ray who has coaching experience and was also a Thomasville legend on the football field and on the court.

I would hope so, but they lost a lot of seniors last year, not to mention the loss of the qb who just tore his acl.

Very good question. Unless it’s chalked up to mass hysteria, I’d say there’s a common thread.
Trey Ray is a good hire. But in all fairness, I read in one of the area papers that he lost virtually all of last year’s team to graduation. Wish him well.
I don’t think all principals are gone, but the high school principal retired.
