anyone missing our old DC ...... I think we came out ahead on that deal ... I've really been impressed with Diaz and am convinced the man knows how to play defense .... save the crucifix if I misspelled his name

We've done very well defensively in almost every game.

We shut down Memphis.
We held Auburn to their lowest point total all year including a second half shutout. We should have won this game if our
We held LSU to under 300 yards of total offense. We were blown out that game because we had 5 turnovers.
We shut down Georgia for most of the game. They had a late drive to make it a 2 score game.
We had some issues vs Alcorn but for the most part held our ground. It was obvious we didn't care about the game that much, and there's not much of a problem with that in my eyes.
We did OKAY against Houston considering they will consistently have a good offense.
We did very well against Florida.

Mullen told him he wasn't bringing him back this year and allowed him to search for jobs elsewhere instead of Mullen giving him the ax. This looks good for all parties. Karl looks wanted. Dan doesn't have to fire coach after one year. Eases other potential coaches mind about coaching under Mullen...

he gets through puberty.

Our secondary still scares the hell out of me but it is not the D coord that worries me, it is the talent in the secondary.

I remember the last time I sat in the student section (a few years after I graduated, but the ticket was cheap and I had an ID still). It was the 16-0 loss to South Carolina. Some dubmass sitting next to me was complaining in the fourth quarter about how bad our defense had been playing. I had to point out that we had 0 points on the scoreboard and that was why we were losing. I guess he was a true Crooms fan and wanted our defense to score 3 TDs to win the game.

We've had a small but vocal number of people all season saying that the D-line, particularly McPhee is a bust. The fact that he doesn't have 12 sacks is killing these people.

The only team we played that even resembles a drop back passing team is Georgia and Murray had the feet to not take many sacks in the backfield. Houston was throwing the ball within a second and a half of the snap and McPhee dominated that game without getting a sack.

What's most impressive is that our D-line is anchored by 2 true sophomores who are playing outstanding football.
