need to remember what we have had at RB before he got here:

Jerious Norwood
Dicenzo Miller
Dontae Walker
Justin Griffith
JJ Johnson
Kevin Bouie
Keffer McGee
Micheal Davis

We will be ok

I really cant remember the last time we havent had a good RB...we will be fine

Rarely do you replace an All-SEC back who is your all-time leading rusher without at least a few growing pains. Let me restate that....At Mississippi State, you rarely replace an All-SEC back who is your all-time leading rusher without at least a few growing pains. The big guys of the world just plug the next five star in there.

We may eventually be OK, but none of the guys on the roster will step in and average 125 ypg next year, and Dixon has always had a nose for the end zone that you can't teach.

However, I do believe we're able to stretch the field much more next year, so that will aid our running game a lot and as long as we can find a couple of serviceable guys out of Elliot, Conner, Perkins, Sanders, and Ballard we'll be ok.

I have to agree with Coach here.

In my opinion J.J. was technically speaking the best running back in modern times at MSU. He was followed by Miller who had enough heart to overcome a few physical shortcommings, then followed by Jerious who had the heart and physical skills to be great and continues to be solid on Sunday's, and he was in turn followed by A.D. who if he can keep his head straight and *** out off trouble could be a solid 3rd down back on Sunday's.

I probably would not include Griffith on that list but he was fantastic catching the ball out of the backfield and did a hell of a job blocking for Miller.

and Perkins could bring a big change of pace to the running game. Dixon will be missed at times, but the running game could actually improve if you just add an actual passing threat (Newton) to the offense.

That Conner and Perkins have been RS. They will at least have a spring and a whole year under Balis, and that's a big, big plus. If we get Rajion Neal, he will probably get some touches.

I will say that we usually seem to find a pretty good RB. Some of that was because Jackie and Croom had offenses that were built around the RB, so it was a high priority.

just that AD is very very good (better numbers than everyone on your list) and that you are ignorant for sticking to your asinine argument that he's not. he's going to the NFL, so that automatically means you're wrong, but you keep arguing like a stupid little 3 year old. your parents should have whipped the stupidity out of you when you were little.

we won't be terrible at RB next year, but we won't have a guy who can break the single game record, average 125 ypg, and have only 3 fumbles in 2+ years. you also lose leadership, and an uncanny ability to get it into the endzone. the more you argue this, the less credible you look. You were wrong, just admit it now and everyone will respect you more.

I disagree, I think he was used correctly as a FB... an almost extinct position in the NFL.

Am I remembering correctly that he had season ending neck surgery, maybe his junior year? Miller thought so much of him and/or was such good friends with him that he switch numbers for the next game to honor him.

But you are absolutely correct to mention how long he has lasted in the NFL.

If Russell improves the way everybody hopes he does, if Cam Newton signs and works out in the spring, if the receivers improve (we have a boatload of Freshmens now), the Bulldogs will only need somebody competent and functional at RB.

If Cam Newton signs and goes through Spring Practice, I say Mullen might just get his 40,000 fans for the spring game.

and backing up coach34 on this on, JJ came in to back up Keefer.

We'll miss Dixon next year, but we'll be fine at RB.

and he turned out alright.

Reid only started 5 games his whole career and those were due to coaching stupidity or injury b/c he always played with either Dicenzo or Norwood.
