and just shows that really he was and has been planning to go to UM for a LONG time.

From the Daily Journal "Ward said after the game that he'd pretty much had his mind made up for some time but the coaching change halted a final decision."

So Ward had already long planned to join the Bears even with Nutt's ongoing dumpster fire. Again confirms for me that we really never had a chance with him as long as his brother was at UM.

"It (Ole Miss) just felt good and I felt like I'm at home and I'm going
to get taken care of and I'm going to get to play with my brother," said
Ward during the live announcement on ESPN.

he has the chance to play with his brother and more than likely get his brother a scholarship (I think his bro is a walk-on).

like someone that expects to just be given everything and not have to work for it. That **** won't fly in college. If that is indeed his thoughts, he won't make it.

Plus he'll probably be the best player on Defense if not the whole team next year.

If I was Ward, I would have gone somewhere that can get me to the NFL.
Would I trust Kiffin, who has 1 year of experience under his belt,as my coach? Probably not. I know playing with his brother is a big deal and him getting ascholarship but that only saves, but what, 20,000 max?

Is is that he wants to play a year with his brother and is just comfortable at OM. That's fine and no argument from anyone even though it goes against most of his early quotes - maybe he had a change of heart.

But if it's stricly a financial play to get his brother a scholarship - what's the true value of that after any financial aid and stuff is taken into consideration. We may be talking about $5-$10K, which when you consider the payback periods for student loands, etc isn't that much. And as big a recruit as he is, I'm sure a booster at just about any other university would pick up that tab (just reality). So if that's the ONLY reason, it's a bit short-sighted.

And none of that is to mean he should have cleary chose State. He should go where he felt most comfortable with education, social, football prep. I fully expected him to end up at Bama or LSU or Auburn based on his early comments in recruiting.

I just found it odd that he added the "I will be taken care of" statement. High School kids...

And Did I say I hate Football Recruiting Season...

We have a Top 15 basketball team about to start SEC play and the board is full of this crap....
