about the Bulldog club membership/fundraising drive? You like? What should we have done differently if there is a year 2?

Also, 7 people have participated.

Do it when football season ticket renewals are due and people are sort of in that mindset of paying for things. Also, in the spring with tax refunds possibly coming to some people, they may feel more like they have that extra $100 to throw at it.

I think it's a great idea to encourage recent grads or soon to be grads though to go ahead and get in and start building points with a pretty good chance to win prizes. That's exactly what I did lo these many years ago (sans the prizes). Scraped together $100 a year to be in the Century level as I believe it was called, split the cost of two tickets with a friend, and now nearly 20 years later I am sitting fat and happy in the west side chairbacks. Maybe that's an idea....have most of the prizes for new signups with a couple of incentives for the long time people. My guess would be that this is more likely to generate new memberships than increase the contributions of current members. That being said, probably all 7 are increases and not new since most of this board is members.

for example "sign up through 6pack and get twice the BC points you would normally get". I think knowing you are getting a benefit is much more enticing than being entered into a drawing.

Plus, it costs the Bulldog Club nothing.

If double is too many (which it probably is) then give some reasonable number, like 50. Or 19.83. Or 17.

Obviously a bit more PR would have helped things along. I don't know if something like this was appropriate for "IT is coming." Probably should have gone with, "SPS is in talks with the Bulldog Club for a possible membership drive, so stay tuned." Of course, they may have asked you to keep it quiet. Also, coming off the huge thread about joining the Bulldog Club, I think a lot of posters probably jumped in before the promotion went into effect. It definitely reminded me to renew for the year, which I guess is why they're in partnership with you now. People are actually joining/renewing/finding out about the Bulldog Club through this site.

Having said all that, I think a standing promo code would be a good idea. So, whenever you want to join or have to renew, you can enter the code and be eligible for a yearly drawing or whatever.

Edit: I like 8dogs idea. Something like an extra point, or even a small bump in the points per dollar donated each year.

My (and perhaps all of them) pledge runs from Jan-Dec each year. Is this correct? If so, IT could be promoted in December for Jan pledge renewals. I upped my giving over the last four years (yes, I know, I was Croom bait) but I have been wanting to do more and did so in spite of Croom. My increase this year would have had me in like Flynn. I plan to increase next year as well. BUT, having said that, I think just the fact that the Athletic Department is willing to include SPS in it's fund-raising speaks volumes. Greg Byrne continues to impress.....

...great idea. Move the timing back to before the deadline, and implement some kind of contest between the internet sites to see who can get the most participants.

Maybe I'm just a lazy bastard but in the world we live in I have become accustom to clicking a button ad doing what I need to do. Maybe I didn't read to closely but all the stuff about give this and call this person and mention this is just too much BS for me to wade through. If I had a button I could click that would let me give $100 more dollars to the Bulldog Club for the SixPack Campaign I would have done it already. Not saying I'm not going to do it anyway, but I just haven't bothered to put some brain time to it.

was to add a promo code of sorts when you donated through your my dog tag account but I think the system would not allow it.

But if you are already a member, you can do a one time payment through your my dog tag then email Bart Gregory that you donated b/c of SixPack. I think the info is for new members. His email is [email protected]

As most have said, it was just too late for me. I had already made my pledge and set my ticket/giving budget for the next school year.

Especially if someone like BMT made it and previewed what it would look like on here. That would be pretty awesome.

This is exactly what happened to me. IT came on Friday 6/5, and I had already renewed on Tuesday 6/2. That big thread reminded/motivated me. Plus, IT was not retroactive, which kind of made the timing even worse.

For example
-the coaching search when everyone and their momma was on this board making their head coach predictions (likely wont happen anytime soon)
-If one of the teams are hot and say we are bowl eligible, in the ncaa tourney, or are a couple of days away from the first game in a regional
-Or maybe raise the prize level to something like the head coach for maroon or white team for spring game. We have a basketball scrimmage and baseball scrimmage series as well. ( These may need higher donation levels though, say for every $200 your name is entered once in the drawing)

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!

I already increased my BC donation, and it did it PRIOR to the deadline that was earlier this year.

I think it's a great idea, and I would have participated, but I made my donation and pledge already back in May before the deadline. And although the prizes are good, I think I would much rather have a guarantee for extra BC points (at no cost to the BC), than simply a shot at winning something in a drawing. Maybe if I were guaranteed a signed football, etc. Not just a chance at one.

No matter what the prize, offer the same reward for those who buy season tickets during the same timeframe.
