To start off, Madison did play Warren Central tonight, so the level of competition was not top notch.
1) Joe Price had about 200 rushing yards tonight at the end of the 3rd quarter. Very quick, especially out of his cuts. Very good vision. Hits the hole, and bursts through it. Doesn't have breakaway speed though. At the end of all of his long TD runs, he had to juke out someone that caught him to get in the endzone. I don't see him as a corner. He is way too short, especially for the SEC. With the moves he has, I see him as more of a slot receiver. He will take some time to mold into an SEC caliber guy though.
2) Although Tobias didn't get a ton of action tonight, I wasn't amazingly impressed with him. He needs to put on some muscle. The Madison QB didn't really help him at all, because the only on target pass I saw to Tobias was a few bubble screens. Didn't really have a chance downfield tonight. He looked a little slow out of his cuts. They ran him out of the wildcat tonight at QB. Every time he kept the ball and ran it up the middle, he was at full speed by the time he hit the offensive lineman. He gets to his top speed very quickly. Didn't do great in the return game. The Warren Central punter really bombed a few punts, and Tobias didn't judge them very well, and let one go through his hands. Also got a dumb penalty for running a punt for a TD after calling a fair catch.
3) Overall Madison stayed pretty vanilla on offense and didn't have to throw it much. Price got a lot of opportunities, and took advantage of them. He looked good, even if it was against a pretty bad team. My opinion of him grew a lot tonight, and I think he has an opportunity down the road to make an impact.
