Thoughts on SEC refs mistakes...

There seems to be little that the SEC office can actually do about referees mistakes but what if they did this...

IF the SEC refs make a mistake and have to issue an apology/explanation letter, then that team would receive a free challenge the next game. No time outs taken away even if the challenge is overridden.

Like I said, a free challenge isn't much but it might help.

Fine them for their incompetence. This won't happen though.

Then you're punishing another crew and/or team not involved.

The only way to get better refs is to pay them better and then fine and/or fire them when they 17up. I'm not sure if they get paid enough now to just fire them and know that what replaces them will be better.

I would like to see the officials get up in front of reporters and a microphone to talk about the game just as the players do. Maybe that will add a little accountability.

THIS ! As far as I can tell, they all seem to have an agenda for one reason or another.

This crew should be removed for the entire season. By allowing them to continue to work the SEC continues to promote the narrative that games are manipulated by the conference. If a player on a team continued to make mistakes or miss shots there would be a probe into point shaving. When an officiating crew and the SEC replay officials fail to act on a blatant mistake what makes anyone think that games are not manipulated to satisfy the conference agenda.

Why shouldn't the team injured by the wrongful call not receive a financial claim, like $250,000 or so from the SEC office? The loss created from a bad call could cost the university money by having poor attendance at future games.

Bitching about refs is as tiresome as bitching about the NCAA in CFB. Call is made in "real time" and stands as called (without reviews). Play on, reviews drive me 17ing crazy.

Its my understanding they get paid $5000 per game. Thats a pretty good side hustle if you ask me. 12 games is 60k us your regular job. Rake a little in on a few "sure thing" wagers and you are sitting pretty
