wow, just a beautiful college baseball facility, makes the Cliff look like a high school stadium.

Great concession areas, has a handful of luxury suites, can see where we could easily seat 7000 or more for a big game.

Lots of parking, very fan friendly. Easy access in and out, park at the football stadium, walk up the hill and there you are. Will be really nice on warm spring days.

Much more pitcher friendly than Hagan, the foul areas are twice as spacious plus OF fences about 10 feet further back. I expect over time you will see a lot more of the traditional baseball games here, i.e., more 6-4 games than 11-9 like at the old park.

In short, I really like it, glad i bought season tickets.

What was everyone else's thoughts and opinions?

Forgot to mention, there are three scoreboards, the big one in CF and two other smaller ones on either side of the grandstand, much easier to keep up with balls and strikes, and outs than in the old park, I could hardly see sometimes at the Cliff.

Also, is there a radar gun indicator? Several of us were looking for it and could not locate it if there is one.

Is there a designated spot for the students to have a party, like the old CF party deck? I thought that was one tradition well worth keeping.

They do have a radar gun to tell you the speed. Next game, look for the pitch count. It is in the form of strikes and balls. Just after the pitch, the mph will flash just under the strikes.

Something neat...they have a big computer screen on the wall where you can look up all things UK baseball. Met Ben Jordan's dad there tonight. Sat with Ben at the regionals NM's first year. Great kid.

Never got to play with that, but it looked really cool.

Wished we could have met before you left, but it's a long season...we walked all around the stadium after and my what an impressive place, much more than i had expected...if i had a complaint i would have gone ahead and put seats all the way to the corners where the bearns and grass are. Other than that it's truly a place every UK fan should see!!

Yea, I'll be back sometime this season and we can do a better job of coordinating our handshake and hello.

I kind of like the concrete, but the grass seems kind of silly given that it is too steep for much sitting. One thing that was super cool was that in warmups, a couple UK pitchers were out near the concrete berm doing who knows what and they starts tossing a bit with two or three kids that were out there on the concrete berm. Really cool to see the players interact with kids that way and I'm sure it will be a great memory for those kids. Hope that is something that continues.

It's certainly a beautiful park. I like the unique left field line. I walked over where the Kentuck is and you can stand next to the far stairs and look over the UK bullpen and right down the left field line. It's certainly a unique view. I was really itching to get into the VIP room with the Kentucky Baseball led sign. I was like a little kid wanting my picture in front of that. Lol

Glad to read these good comments about our new park. Toured the day of So. Carolina football game and was certainly impressed. Be home end of March and will make as many games as I can. Maybe we can all meet at some point. Till then appreciate everyone blogs. GO CATS!

You know one thing I really dig at KPP? The terrace. I thought that was a really cool view. But the view in the outfield was really good too. Got some really cool pictures out there. And the scoreboard is massive.

Did any of you season ticket holders get one of these in the mail from UK?

Just hope when it warms up in a couple weeks that folks will get out and fill it up! It is truly a beautiful place! The landscaping can use some some serious upgrading , but the inside is terrific.

This is just my opinion, but as nice as the inside is, the outside is very, I hate to say it, bland. Actually, bland isn’t quite the right word. Boring may be a better word.

The only thing I don’t like (from a selfish perspective as a photographer) is the new park will be bad for pictures on sunny days. Half of the field is in harsh sun, half in the shadows. It’s going to be tough to shoot there, but we’ll have to figure it out. I know that’s the least of UK’s concerns.

Can’t wait to see the first huge crowd there. Should be an amazing atmosphere for Louisville and some SEC opponents.

I look forward to some of the landscaping around the park growing over time. It will look even better with some big trees and greenery around it.

Think the sun will be less of a problem when daylight savings starts and the days get longer
