I don't know if it was commented on much during the game, but the throw Russell makes with 5:40 left in the third to Tubby was Big Time. The pocket is collapsing, a guy has a handful of Russel's jersey and he delivers a strike between three defenders to Lewis to the 15 yard line. Russell seemed to "grow up" in that game yesterday and it will be fun to watch him over the next 2 years.

I must've missed this when it started to circulate, but could someone explain to me how Lewis got the nickname of "Tubby"? I've been lost about that for a while.

I believe it's because he was a chubby kid.

And friends and/or family started calling him that.

I know Auburn doesn't have the best secondary.

But on the 3 drives that ended in TD passes, Russell looked to be in total control. We had guys wide open, and he made some damn fine throws. Bump on the run in the endzone corner, Jameon in the middle, Bump on an out route right on the sideline with a defender behind him. There were a few moments where it looked like everything was coming very easily to Tyler and he knew exactly where the ball was supposed to be going.

A lot of people liked what he did yesterday and I think everyone has to be pleased with the decisions he made yesterday. Todd McShay even said by the end of the year he thinks Tyler Russell could be one of the top 10 to 15 QBs in the nation. If he is able to put up numbers that good we are going to have a very special season because we have the defense to back up his play.
