who actually started that chant and did it up until this season, actually did kill himself. Think he was from Batesville.

I'm sure you didn't actually mean what you said.

Yeah his name was Chip Clinton I believe. I've always heard that he was one of the rowdiest guys at the game.

But the chant is still awful and whoever is continuing on his legacy needs to get curbed.

The guy was around his mid-40s, maybe early 50s I believe, and he had kids in high school I believe. Real tough to lose someone that young.

Anyway, I think it's a cool deal because it gets the crowd involved. There really isn't such thing as a "cool" baseball cheer. I think anything that gets your crowd into the game and anything that might get in the opposing team's head is a good thing.

That guy had some pipes on him though. You could hear him clearly in right field 500 ft. away from his seats when he really got going.

I think he shortened his battle with cancer.

If you read the comments at the link, you'll notice his dad is the first comment. You'll also notice that he took no offense to the suicide talk in the article.

Sidenote...if the MSU fans hate it, we are doing something right. Just like I hate the sound of cowbells. Evidently other teams don't like it as well. UCLA had a group of our fans thrown out of a game in LA a few years ago for saying it.

He thought it was the same guy.

you might as well say bruiser had no idea that elliot really had messed his knee up. Bruiser wasn't being serious either, yet we (including me) still hold it against him

Go put your tampon in and quit crying about it. I didn't know the guy was dead. That sucks for his family but please don't come over here and preach. It's a 17ing horrible chant and it's not "cool" at all.

No one knew he was dead. I wouldn't have said it if I knew he was dead. Yall get over it.

No more annoying than a cowbell? Are you kidding me? That chant is absolutely miserable. It's almost as bad as the Maroon White chant. You're usually a good poster but come on man.

I'm just saying it's the same as what bruiser did. You said you hoped he'd kill himself. Well the originator of it did kill himself.

So now we can make fun of you for it.

And that will be my last comment on the matter

do is post an appology/not appology stating something along the lines of "sorry, i was on sixpack/nafoom last night and drunk when i posted that. i didn't mean to. blaaaah" and you have the typical nafoomer response when they make idiots out of themselves. then follow it up with some cool new beer that is out info.

was an imposter. We even got an email from the real Chip Clinton right after we started up.
