What I’ve learned from being a State fan for 40 years is the next coach (regardless of sport) is never the top guy on the hot board. I’ve also learned nobody knows anything at this point in the search - it’s all speculation. We won’t know the real candidates until the Supers are over.

"Never" is too strong. Cohen and Jans come to mind.

I don't remember Jans being the top guy, but he certainly was prominent on the hot board. Cohen seemed like a slam dunk hire that made the most sense. O'Connor is on top of the board, but he has no connections to State and is entrenched in Charlottesville.

Exactly. We were all convinced we were hiring Schlossnagle a few years ago. The oriole talking don’t know what’s really going on. The people who do know aren’t talking.
