Saturday night shocked the sports world as the NBA witnessed one of the most out of nowhere trades in history, with the Dallas Mavericks sending their icon Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for what appears to be a lackluster return. It got Brian Hadad and Robbie Faulk thinking, what Mississippi State moments were as equally shocking to fans and the media both? The guys have the list of the days where Bulldog fans couldn’t believe their eyes and ears.

Coach Croom's firing was the first thing that came to my mind. And I know, I know, most of y'all knew it was going to happen and were not surprised.

I would describe it more as surprising but the weekend in 1996 when State went to Rupp and beat UConn and Cincy. Not many people thought State could be that UConn team either with Ray Allen. State was on the national scene for a week.

Croom beating Florida in 2004 is probably the most shocking win of my lifetime. We were firmly in the pit of despair. Had lost to Maine and gotten blown out by UAB earlier in that same year. I think we had one SEC win in the previous 2.5 years coming in and it was against equally bad Vandy the year before. And then Croom up and beats Florida out of nowhere. I realize it was Ron Zook UF but nobody in their right mind had us winning that game.

Not surprising in a good way, but when we hired Rick Ray. A lot of us were fed up and ready to move on from Stansbury, then we go and hire a Clempsun assistant nobody had heard of. Then he managed to totally under-perform some pretty low expectations.

Literally the first time I ever heard of Rick Ray was the exact moment we announced we were hiring him.

Vic leaving was the biggest shock to me. I remember me and my wife just looking at each other and not saying a word for 20 minutes.

Yep. Anther one I'll never forget where I was.
I actually learned about Stowers passing from Jackie Sherrill’s wife on a flight in from Memphis. She had the seat next to me. We talked football and she told me that she was cutting some trip to come home due to the passing of Stowers. Jackie was there to meet her at the airport and looked pretty upset. We chatted the entire flight and she seemed to be a very nice Lady.
