Mullen knows the up tempo spread. He learned with one of the innovators, he ran it with some success his first three years with a marginal Qb, Mississippi kids are made for it, and Dak is made for it. Yet we run an under the center, stagnant, predictable offense that doesn't even keep us in games. Is he trying to lose?

This feels like a Croom year already. Hope I'm wrong.

It definitely has a 2008 feel to it. Offense needing changes with scheme, round peg square hole, and a good defense, 4-8 finish.

Mullen has wasted a great QB in TR. it's time realize that Mullen just isn't that good of an offensive coach. We don't we throw downfield? Why do we keep trying to run the ball when it's not working. Let TR air it out. Mullen will never be a great coach. He can't beat a Top 20 team.

mullen has succumbed to self-pity. he is defeated and has forgotten the principles that have given him success in the past. we let some guy that wasnt good enough to get the starting nod run all over us. our defense was not prepared for that and had no answer all game. on the other side, whoever was calling the plays gave us NO shot whatsoever. either way, mullen is responsible because he should have vetoed half those 3rd down plays because they were unimaginative and predictable. everyone saw it and its just a continuation of last year. and whats really troubling, dak doesnt look to be the answer because the offense has changed so much. go watch youtube highlights of anthony dixon's last year and highlights of ballard. dont look at their outstanding athleticism, look at the plays they are running. they are a totally different playbook than what we run now. why? because russell cant run the same offense relf did or even tyson lee. he has nearly zero running ability and we feasted on the zone read with ballard and dixon here and we didnt really have the talent we do now. look at how much trouble the zone read gave us last night....osu beat our asses by pulling a page from our playbook from '09, '10, and some of '11.

Anyone else notice that even when Dak came in he still lined up under center? Not that it's a big deal but there wasn't a single QB in Mullen's first 3 years that line up that way. It was shotgun shotgun shotgun, and with a QB like Dak why wasn't he in the shotgun? It wasn't a 4th and 1 or short yardage play.

Certainly Dak should have that in his arsenal and I have absolutely no clue if that play called for it but what it said to me was that the guy calling the plays, whoever that might be, did not even attempt to change the play calling between TR and Dak.
