No Matt Wyatt today either. Hope he's ok.Radio indicating there may be a start delay. Lightning in the area.
Which probably means it’s gonna kick our *** this winter with multiple winter storms this winter.El Niño is kicking college football's *** this season. **
Agree, especially the length of time. They don't need that long to warm up after the storms are gone. These weather delays are such an overreaction.
There's lightning less than 9 miles from the stadium. I've seen it strike up to 30 miles from the parent storm. Then you have a stadium 150ft tall and all those lights going up higher and it's going to be an attractive target for lightning so I understand erring on the side of caution. They do nothing and a lightning strike kills 50 fans in the upper deck...These weather delays are such an overreaction.
Jay Just said 30 min before they could take the field for pre game warmups.I don't know where the stadium is on the map, but the storms seem to be moving out of the area toward the SW. Maybe the delay won't be so long.
How do we order one of those for Oxford? There's lightning less than 9 miles from the stadium. I've seen it strike up to 30 miles from the parent storm. Just looked at the radar and there's nothing south of Memphis. All of it seems to be pretty much east of the Ala/Miss line. How do we order one of those for Oxford?
How long is the warmup? An hour or so?Jay Just said 30 min before they could take the field for pre game warmups.
Gotta Crack a few eggs to make am omelet. Cheap seats up there in the danger zoneThere's lightning less than 9 miles from the stadium. I've seen it strike up to 30 miles from the parent storm. Min 22.5 min, unless the coaches agree to other. How long is the warmup? An hour or so?
Should be ok pretty soon.Best I can tell, the University is a little SE of downtown Columbia. If that's the case, the delay shouldn't be all that long unless more storms develop.
Shouldn’t go into OT now.The Vandy/NC State game may run over a little, so a short delay might be a good thing.
Scratch that - NC State just got an interception. The Vandy game could go to OT with a field goal, so a delay might be Ok (both games on SECN).
At least that storm is moving away from the stadium, but the storm is also intensifying. Hope it continues to move out.Another strike just detected w/in 8 miles so that restarts the 35 min clock.
Probably so. Ice storms and tornadoes!Which probably means it’s gonna kick our *** this winter with multiple winter storms this winter.![]()
I could have told you that without opening a weather app. Swear it’s never going to rain here againJust looked at the radar and there's nothing south of Memphis. All of it seems to be pretty much east of the Ala/Miss line.
Encourages people to pony up and buy lower level seats.Gotta Crack a few eggs to make am omelet. Cheap seats up there in the danger zone
Most places on our farm haven’t gotten over an inch of rain since July 1stI could have told you that without opening a weather app. Swear it’s never going to rain here again
Funny how scattered the rain is. I live about 2 air-miles from the HSV airport, where NWS measurements are taken. I've had about 1.5" in 3 separate "events" in the last week. Officially at the airport, only 0.04".I could have told you that without opening a weather app. Swear it’s never going to rain here again
