Idk.. we will see how well Bama can shoot over a much more athletic, lengthy and talented Duke team. It's not so much I think Alabama will go cold, but that Duke is going to contest their shots much better than Maryland did.

Also remember the officiating.
Better than BYU* did

Duke will have all the game pressure on them though. They're the title favorite. They're the media darling. They're also trying to get Scheyer over the hump.

They haven't seen a team like Alabama all year. I get what you're saying. Duke is way better at defense than BYU. But Alabama is way better than anything Duke has seen this year, including Kentucky.

Oops, got my opponents mixed up. But statement stands, and maybe even more so as it was BYU.

Also, Bama still has to defend Duke
I knew what ya meant and you are correct, Duke will definitely give them way more defensive problems. I do hope they go ahead and lose tonight though.

Florida and Alabama both beat really good teams in routes tonight.

If I'm a Duke fan, I'm extremely concerned. Not only do they have to get through Arizona tonight, which is no given, but they have might have the hottest team in the country waiting for them in the Elite Eight. And then potentially Kentucky, Houston, or Tennessee in the Final Four. This is why it's critical that Auburn and Florida make the Final Four as well. We want to stack the deck as much as possible against Duke.

No easy roads for the Jon Scheyer era.

I won't be satisfied until I see Cooper Flagg weeping on the sidelines with a towel over his head as his team loses in the final seconds of a tournament game.
Sad part is that I think he’s genuinely a really good kid. The fact he plays for Duke is impossible to stomach.

I almost think I’d rather face Duke than Bama. But I don’t ever want Duke to win any game. Bama looks like world beaters tonight. After we beat UT and Houston, we are going to have a tough game on our hands against Bama. But we can do it.

If West Virginia can take down John Wall and Kentucky in 2010; and Wisconsin can take down Kentucky in 2015; and Michigan State can take down Zion and Duke in 2019, you better believe that Alabama can take down this ACC darling that hasn't played anyone of substance since December.

Queen's going to finish with the most unimpressive 30 points in tourney history. He can't/won't rebound and just walks up the court after every Florida basket. Just stat-padding.
He's got no backup to play. Not many 260 pound bigs can play against 4 other bigs and not get tired.

The Flagg family desperately needs to experience some pain Saturday. Complete with sackcloth and ashes and weeping filling every room throughout the Flagg mansion.

My favorite part of the narratives I heard this week was the one about how this Duke team is the most favored title contender since the 1999 Duke squad.

A hilarious assertion that ignores 2009 North Carolina, 2012 Kentucky, 2007 Florida, and even 2015 Kentucky.

Keep that in mind. So much of our assessment is filtered by media narratives that are erroneous. Duke is susceptible to a upset Saturday.

Zona being 3 for 3 from three is going to force Duke to meet them out, which should open the paint. That's a nice little early win for Arizona.

I'm not going to stay up but I predict Arizona to win this game.

Reminds me of the 2011 Arizona/Duke game where I didn't stay up, and a roommate woke up me as Arizona was about to pull the upset lol. It was the Kyrie Irving year and Arizona had thay big Derrick Williams or Derrick something.

I quit listening.

It's gaslighting.

Now we know Scheyer intended to spot Arizona the three points going into the first TV timeout. It makes for a better story when Duke wins by a landslide

Media is trash. They lose credibility every time they open their mouth. Not to bring politics into the discussion but there is a reason why we have our current President. It's not because he's the best thing since slice bread. It's because no one trusts what comes out of our TV station.

That Zion tesm though.. too much concentrated talent. Some of us said that all year. Not that I wasn't concerned they'd power through to a title.. but their center and PG player were lacking.

Duke dominated Auburn. Auburn played awful. When healthy, we are better than Auburn or Alabama. Our victory over Duke was not a fluke.

The problem was never Zion it was the inconsistency of RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish.

Reddish didn't even show up in 37 min in the Elite 8 game vs. Mich St. 8 points.

Duke just turned it up to a level Arizona doesn’t have. If Duke plays like that all night, I’ll be watching the other game
