I don't know if I'd call him a thug, but from the stories I hear, it sounds to me like he may have Greg Hardy disease.

So, who knows? If he makes his grades and keeps his act together, then I'll take him. Also, I have a feeling he's going to end up playing OLB.

says the team with the class with nothing at the biggest need position. We've got 6 DBs commited as Junaid is LB and adding one more will give us 7. You realize you play 4 and 5 DBs at a time...what's the problem?

Scott and Hunter. And Hunter is going to probably sign elsewhere since he has only a grayshirt offer at Ole Miss. Demond Washington is going to get a shot at RB, but he's going to end up at DB. Neat is a McCluster slot receiver/RB. We need one or two of those in this class.

So we haven't oversigned RBs by any means. And DB was a major need in this class. Three of our projected starters at the DB spots are going to be seniors this fall, and the other is going to be a junior. That's a big time need spot, so I'd say we're signing about the right number there as well.

And a guy like Tig is probably going to end up at OLB, just like Junaid. I just see both of them bulking up and playing OLB, which is another need since 2 of our top 4 returning LBs are seniors and the other 2 are going to be juniors.

Seriously, the only thing I think we need to add to this class is one more O-lineman, and I'd like a QB. If we land Bobby Massie (long shot) and Cotton at QB, this will be the best job of addressing needs that I've seen in a while with an Ole Miss recruiting class.

Speaking of addressing needs, how is Mullen doing with addressing that pressing OL need you have?

for ya'll.

And you are correct, we have nothing at the OL position, but the people who did that are no longer coaching our team.

But Tig is very much a thug. His name has come across the desk of the Panola County ADA on more than one occasion. I said last year and continue to say: You can have him. He's nothing but trouble.

You know something I don't, and I'll take your word for it. Thug or not, I still say he has Greg Hardy disease too on top of everything else.

So that adds 3 ifs then (1. if he can make his grades, 2. if he can stay in school, and 3. if he can stay out of trouble). The guy has a lot of talent, and I'd love to see him playing SS or OLB, but he's got to straighten up if that's going to happen. I have my doubts that he will, but if the coaches want to take a chance on him and keep him on a short leash, that's fine with me.

However, I'll add that if he has off field issues it would probably be better if he went to somewhere like Tennessee that was a long way away from home. Being 15 minutes from his buddies back home make it less likely that he'll stay in line.

You never know with recruiting, but the latest word out of Washington after his in-homes and after his visit to Auburn is that he's coming to Ole Miss. It's an odd situation where his mom actually wants him to get further away from home. I'm presuming that's to try to get him away from friends he had back home.

So you are speaking for Smith Murphy now? I can shoot him an email over and straighten this arguement out real quick.

Now before you go any further...are you repeating a rumor, hearsay, or just joshing? Because it sounds like you are pretending to know something that you really don't know about.

I have a very strong connection to the Panola County SO & the DA's office.

He broke about a 50 yard run in the state champioship game and spiked the ball on the 5 yard line and started celebrating while George County recovered.

If he doesn't improve a year after high school, then I say fire away, but I don't get throwing the "thug" label out at a recruit who knows just a little more than **** so far. You may not have improved since high school, but a lot of other people have.

not to question your knowledge or anything but Tig is no more of a thug than Pegues or Mario Bobo were in high school. I would know. I went to SP with both of them. Your boy Pegues wasn't exactly a saint. I do agree that Tig is a crazy 17er. You hit the nail on the head with that one

Actually usc, I'd disagree with that, but it's a sliding scale based on talent. If you have Pacman talent, then it takes Pacman type issues to make you more trouble than your talent is worth.

If you have my level of talent, skipping a class would make me more trouble than I'm worth.

There are definitely some guys that have enough talent that even killing someone doesn't make them worth giving up on...cough...Ray Lewis...cough.
