is a damn joke. Last year's team was very good, yes, but they played all their toughest games at home. This year, they play those games on the road and look what happens. They lose those games. Their resume has to be the least impressive of any team that will make the field, non mid-majors excluded. And what really pisses me off is they may actually get a #1 seed. That is just complete horsecrap! They beat Gonzaga and UT by 2, that is it. Lost every other game in which the competition wasn't a high school team. And they're going to get a #1 seed. Unbelievable! is a damn joke. Last year's team was very good, yes, but they played all their toughest games at home. This year, they play those games on the road and look what happens. They lose those games. Their resume has to be the least impressive of any team that will make the field, non mid-majors excluded. And what really pisses me off is they may actually get a #1 seed. That is just complete horsecrap! They beat Gonzaga and UT by 2, that is it. Lost every other game in which the competition wasn't a high school team. And they're going to get a #1 seed. Unbelievable! Getting to the Elite 8 is a helluva lot easier when you're a 1 or 2 seed. Memphis is good, but look at their victories. Beating UT on the road is okay, and they played Gonzaga when the Zags weren't playing their best. Other than that, every other good team they played, they lost to. So, they play in pretty much the weakest Conference in the NCAA, pile up all these victories, climb up in the rankings because they're never going to lose to any of the teams in CUSA, and back-door their way into a 1 or 2 seed. It's just crap if you ask me. 28-3 with one good win is a joke.

And I agree with you, I think if Memphis was in the SEC, it would have come down to LSU & Memphis for the Title, but no way they'd be a 2 or 3 seed. I'd say they'd be a 4 or 5, which makes it just a little bit tougher to get to the Elite 8. That's my beef with them. They get further in the Tourney because of their over-inflated seeding, which except for last year, they don't deserve.

State freaking annihilated Houston by nearly 30. There is not a team in C-USA outside of Memphis that is even as good as MSU. C-USA is the 10th RPI rated conference and Memphis' SOS was 55. I just don't think a one seed should come from the champ of one of the worst conferences with a poor SOS. A 3 or 4 seed yes.</p>

Sure, they played their regular season games at home last year, but it wasn't like their run to the championship game was a cakewalk. After their first game, they faced us, Michigan State, Texas, then UCLA. That's a one seed, a two seed, a five seed, and and eight seed. By comparison, Kansas beat a one, a ten, a twelve, and an eight.

They're not the same team this year they were last, but they're still damn good, and have gotten better all year long.</p>

Their conference schedule is about as good as Memphis'. When playing good teams, they weren't doing so well.

And UT lost 6 games at home this season. So again, yes, that win was just 'okay'.

If your 2 best wins are against a mediocre UT team and Gonzaga, you don't deserve a 1 or 2 seed, and that's what they're probably going to get. That's what I think is horse crap.

To say they were playing their worst basketball of the season may have been a stretch, but the fact is they lost 4 of 5 games heading into their bs conference schedule. Sorry if beating the likes of Pepperdine and San Francisco doesn't do it for me. Just because you beat inferior teams doesn't mean you're playing good basketball.

Getting to the Elite 8 is a helluva lot easier when you're a 1 or 2 seed. Memphis is good, but look at their victories. Beating UT on the road is okay, and they played Gonzaga when the Zags weren't playing their best. Other than that, every other good team they played, they lost to. So, they play in pretty much the weakest Conference in the NCAA, pile up all these victories, climb up in the rankings because they're never going to lose to any of the teams in CUSA, and back-door their way into a 1 or 2 seed. It's just crap if you ask me. 28-3 with one good win is a joke.

If you are going to dismiss the gonzaga win because you say gonzaga wasn't playing their best ball then you need to give Memphis the benefit of the doubt for their early losses. There is no doubt they are now a better team than they were at the beginning of the year

I think they can be, and it rides about 100% on Evans. He's looked like the level headed superstar a lot, but he's also looked lazy and out of it at times. The talent around him made up for it, but deep in the tourney, that may not happen. However, if Tyreke is bringing his best stuff to the dance, they have a serious shot again this year.

the zags did not lose 4 of 5 heading into conference play. they lost 3 of 5, or 4 of 6, but not 4 of 5. their last game before conference play was a 10 point win at tennessee. three of those losses were close - at arizona, by 5 on a neutral court against uconn, and by 1 at utah. hardly sounds like playing terrible basketball.

gonzaga won at tennessee. san diego won in starkville. but they are CRAP because they don't play in a real conference. damn, i wish we played terrible enough to win 18 out of 19 games (more, now, since they won the WCCT). especially when you're playing so terrible that you win by 20 and 30 points in most of those games.
