No, we've heard it every year for the last however many, and we heard it a few weeks ago before he bombed at match play and the next tournament. He might win one, thought I doubt it, and he is definitely not "bacK" nor will he ever be.

I'm watching it on a delayed basis (went and played myself), but he certainly has the intensity back. I think he wins at least one major this year.

They'll reshow it at 8:30 tonight. DVR it and just watch him for a couple holes. You'll see it.

So off this round today you're saying he's back? Couple of points: He's already won earlier this year so it's not like these rounds are out the blue, but in the tournaments since, he has been a non factor. His win earlier this year was on course (Torrey) that he has won on multiple times, like Doral (6 times). He's never lost his look, he lost his game. He has self doubt now which he has never had, hence his putting. And he no longer has that intimidation factor that he use to because the young guns now are damn good and dont give a **** about Tiger. He's not back and he's not winning a major this year. I'm not saying he can't get back to where he was. He's still Tiger Woods. He needs to start playing golf and stop playing golf swing. The guy knows more about his swing than the guys coaching him.

No. There's 4 majors in golf. The Masters April 11th-14th is the first one. Then the US Open, British Open and PGA Championship. If you watch any of them watch the Masters and the US Open. These two are by far my favorites.

I'm sorry THE Open is some of the best golf to watch especially when the winds are up. I loved it when my child was an infant, I would wake up with her at 5 am to feed her and watch The Open. I rank them Augusta, Open, US, PGA. Of course there are years when The Open is at a venue that is a little tamer and The US Open is at Bethpage or Pebble. Of course Kiawah is a great venue too so last year the PGA was fun to watch.

17 birdies in 36 holes. Almost 50%. That's pretty darn good.

I don't really like Tiger as a person but I sure like to watch him play golf.

Bombed his match play? Are you a 17'ing idiot? He didn't bogey 1 hole that round and had one of the best rounds of the day.

Agree to disagree but I put The Open last. I'm not a fan of the links style courses. The grass is brown and the courses are just ugly to me. Give me trees, water and lots of green grass. Those courses look like the MSU intramural fields after a bad summer mixed in with way too much overgrown fescue and ugly brown sanded pot bunkers. It's overcast, windy, cold, rainy and ugly and way too 17ing early in the day. But it's cool you had that connection with your daughter and The Open would be my favorite too if I had that same experience. A huge part of the problem for me was the early start times for the US. It's no biggie for me now but I was NOT getting up at 6/7am in college to watch ugly golf. Ha

I pretty much agree on the appearance of most of their courses, but they're so old you have to consider the character too. And I like the bunkers with the sod revetments (I think that's what they call them). Not sure how they ever get out of those.

But I'm very partial to a beautiful, green golf course. I think the Master's is #1 by a long shot though. And the stuffed shirts there do too.

He won a tournament but not a major

It was early in the year in California I think. I don't remember which tournament it was.

I can totally understand that sentiment. I'm also partial to Sawgrass because playing it on Tiger Woods for Playstation over the last 15 years, i know every hole yard by yard. I like Alliss as an announcer at The Open . The other thing I love about today's technology at The Open is the shot track. A couple of years ago when Norman(who always played a high fade) was in contention, on one hole the winds were blowing left to right at 35 mph on a hole. His drive started probably 20 yards left of the patrons on the left side of the fairway and finished in the right rough. The arc of that shot was comical.

You hit it INTO the sod, and it crawls up the face. Been there done that. I didn't believe it until my caddy tole me to try it. Great bunkers! Wish we had them in the US like those!

Totally agree on US bunkers. They are no longer a penalty. Too easy to stop the ball out of a bunker. I'd almost prefer if rakes were disallowed and only at the beginning of the day are they raked and cleaned and then no raking is allowed throughout the day. That would make them entertaining atleast.

So STUPID so STUPID so STUPID.

I watch the Masters every year. My uncle is a PGA official so I've been around golf my whole life. Unfortunately on that side of the family my mother was the only girl, so I'm the only grandchild who doesn't golf. Damn country club rules. Plaguing me and ****.

What? For tour players, sure, for average golfers bunkers are plenty of a penalty. From green side rough I have 4 shots at my disposal, chip and run, solid pitch and run, pitch and check on the second bounce, or a swing the **** out of an effective loft of 65 degree giant flop. Out of a bunker, clean lie I have two, blast for maximum carry that hopefully lies dead or the clean pick and check with the 58 degree. I am a pretty good short game guy and was an awful bunker player, (somehow avoided them at State and there was only 3 in all of warren county), but I built one in my back yard to practice and I'm still pretty mediocre. When I play with fairly skilled golfers I get commended on what are average shots to me from a green side bunker (between 5 and 10 feet away from the hole.) and that is perfect white sand fluffy bunkers in the panhandle. So I think bunkers even when raked are plenty of a problem. Don't get me started on fairway bunkers. The ones on original 14 at State are where plenty of rounds in the 70's went to die.
