Underwent back surgery for a pinched nerve. Time table for return is "hopeful" for the British Open.

Damn that sucks.

I don't think it's a matter of healing. Everytime he takes a golf swing, he does damage to his body.

One of Tiger's former swing coaches attributes his numerous injuries

to spending too much time in the gym with intense workouts that break down his body, while not focusing on practicing enough on his game. Interesting view point, but probably expected from a swing coach I guess.

Awe damn, I'd love to see a few "magic bullets" or "show time rotisserie bbqs" sprinkled here and there*****

From early on people were questioning whether he had a swing to last. I thought that was the whole purpose of him rebuilding his swing was to put less stress on his body but apparently it either didn't relieve stress enough or it was too late after practicing like a mad man for the first few decades of his life.

Maybe it's best not to have a such a rigorous weight lifting regimen as a pro golfer. Although you could just as easily argue it played a role in his success, I don't think his body breaking down in his late 30's was part of the plan, nor is it on any pro golfer agenda.

If you are a fan of golf you better hope for one of two things. 1. Tiger heals and comes back to pass Jack. 2.Someone else starts dominating the competition. If neither of these happens the future is bleak for golf.

When he transformed from a skinny kid to what he is today, steroids was what I thought too. He denies it of course, but I still believe that's the secret. Yes, he works out hard, but I think he's had some help.

He kinda reminds me of the old Charles Atlas ads they used to have in the comics ... basically bulking up over night. Some of the older ones here will probably remember those ads.

If he'd slow his swing down from 140 to about 120 he'd last a lot longer. And probably hit the ball just as far.

We all know that too much sex has broken Tiger down. It's prob exacerbated his back problems related to the torsional stress of swinging a golf club. He should sue each one of them.

I think he used them also but I think his mental dependency on them was much greater than his physical dependency. Tiger`s putter has won him many more tournaments than his driver.

What is BS. I watch every tournament regardless but when tiger plays EVERYONE watches. When he wins more watch. He has to continue to do it or someone else does. You think -0 year olds are watching golf? No. But when tiger was smoking everyone I did.

He's never developed another swing. AND he's gotten older.

AND his head is all 17d up. He used to be money on the green. Last several tournaments I've watched him in he looks like a weekend warrior out there putting.

He's never developed another swing.

Sitting here I can envision 3 distinctly different swings that Tiger has had over the last 18 years.
I am sure if I actually googled it, I would find another 1 or 2 distinctly different swings he has had. Probably 1 more, id guess.

1- You really think he bulked up over night? Cuz I dont consider the second half of the 90s and the early 2000s to be 'over night'.

2- Lots of people transform from a skinny kid to a fit and strong person without steroids. Its just puberty and adulthood. Now a whole lot of those people arent as ripped as Tiger, but they also dont have Tiger's well documented dedication to fitness.

I am not saying he didnt take steroids. I have no idea if he did or didnt as I have never met the guy and I havent seen any interviews with him on the issue.
But your reasons for thinking he was shooting roids are pretty weak. Weaker than a skinny kid.

I don't know what you consider a different swing, but he's had at least two different swing coaches (Butch Harmon and Hank Haney) and apparently thinks he's rebuilt his swing:

I dont think tiger takes steroids. He doesnt look like he takes steroids. Hell, he isnt in THAT great of shape. Walking 4 miles a day, 5 days a week, all he would have to do is hit weights About 45 mins a day, 4 days a week and he would be ripped. He isnt ripped. I wouldnt even say he is in that great of shape.
