Time to get Walken and Ferrell to do a personal appearance....

Stricklin said MSU plans to use Scott Field's gigantic video board "in a fun way, in an entertaining way," to tell fans when they can and can't use them.

As much as Ferrell loves sports, you would think he would be thrilled to come down and shoot a few segments.

If not for the redneck who ruined it for us last year, it would be hilarious to recreate the scene from wedding crashers where he is sitting in his robe and substitute the nunchucks with a cowbell. "I almost cowbelled you and you don't even know it." Probably wouldn't be appropriate now.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a "more cowbell now" and "less cowbell now" sketch could be funny.

but I was just thinking outside the box because anything Ferrell does is funny.

Regardless, I think it is pretty clear that we will actually get to hear Walken say the word cowbell in the clip this year.

He's not coming to Starkville. We'd probably have to send a film crew to LA, if he wanted to do it, which I doubt.

Ole Miss has a made-for-Ole-Miss celebrity appearance on their jumbotron every home game. We can and should get Will Ferrell to do a little something for our gameday.

We probably send one of our guys to LA. He'd hire a small film crew. They'd go met Ferrell and they'd probably spend an hour or two and be done.

But we are talking about basically a commercial here. And don't tell me it can't be done. Ole Miss does something like this for every game, something different every game. I am talking about doing one shoot (and yes, most likely wherever Ferrell is staying at that time, not in Starkville).

Oh wait. They do that kind of stuff all the time.

Edit: Meant to reply to TR. Flabloser is absolutely right.

Ferrell would do it if he was putting it on Funny or Die. You could even use the fact that 50,000 people would essentially see and love his skit several times during every home game. It could be used for several years. You just need to make them see that it is essentially free advertising.

We need to get someone like Jason Statham or The Rock to film a scene beating the hell out of the other team's mascot.

And it should be used in every sloppily-edited YouTube football highlight video ever.

That landlord skit was the site's first video, and helped launch the site, not some goof-off project for some organization (or university) he has no affiliation with.

As far as Ole Miss' thing, I've never seen it. I can only imagine it's a celebrity yelling Hotty Toddy or something, not an elaborate skit. If you could find some alum in Hollywood to shove a cowbell in some star's hand and get them to say Go Dawgs!, that would be great.
