I don't know why you guys are so worried about DTV. The first game is over a month away. There is enough talk going on right now to let you know they will have it. I have DTV and am not worried at all. They always do this but they always reach an agreement.

I hate to tell DirectTV, but the market rate has been set. You can either pay it or you can start losing customers.

With or without DTV (almost certainly with), this has already been the most successful new channel launch ever.

I agree. That's another reason I'm confident DTV will get this done. DTV needs it because literally all their competition has it now. But the SEC also needs DTV to carry it. I could be wrong on this, but I think DTV is the largest provider in the US. Both need each other and will make it happen.

I don't mind my cable co. negotiating on this a bit

I'm the guy that will be paying the tab. And that's a fact.

And if it does not get worked out(which I fully expect that it will), I 'm free to go elsewhere. Damn I hate to change.

36 days and counting.

The crickets are chirping!!!!!

About 3 weeks until the SEC Network launch day and rumors have been stirring that Directv will have reached negotiations to be able to broadcast on that date. I think the heat is on Directv, definitely now, as they have had a lot of calls asking when the date will be, and all the other providers jumping on board. I have had Directv since 1999, but I would go to Dish in a minute if they didn't pick up the SEC Network. I just hope this doesn't turn into The Weather Channel debacle.

Jim Cantore says you full of ****!

Jim Cantore doesn't have SEC Country on his side. And TV is an outdated manner of getting weather anyway. Meanwhile, live sports keep it afloat.

It will be totally shocking DirecTV deal isn't officially announced by August 1. Anyone thinking otherwise simply hasn't been paying attention.

I have DTV & also think they will get it.

That said, it is a little interesting to me Dish Network has gone balls to the walls with promotions about them having it & DTV not. Why put all that in place unless you have a good idea DTV isn't going to get it, at least initially?

Trying to scare people to switch. Dish should push that angle very hard right now because once DTV gets it, they will be back to having no advantage.

Oh I agree, surprised the deal wasn't announced weeks ago but Direct has shown they can be hard headed. Did they ever work out a deal by the way, I never heard much after it all went down or do they still have Weather Nation?

When you have a competitive advantage, you exploit it. You hammer that advantage and ride it for all its worth because once others have it and its not an advantage, you are no longer exclusive.

-Why does DTV advertise their NFL package?- they have it and others don't.

It would be bad marketing if a company didn't focus on what they have that's better than the competition.

I think the main issue with DirecTV is that this hit at same time they were negotiating ALL of the ESPN properties while everyone else only had to negotiate carrying the SECN (pretty sure ESPN did that on purpose). I think DTV will get this worked out but I'm still a little nervous. Don't want to leave them but I will if I have to. I would really like to have faith and call up there raising hell just to get a better deal but don't know if I can handle getting locked in and them f-ing this up.

If anyone on here decides to go with Dish and wants to save an extra $50 just PM me and I can give you a referral code. It'll save me $50 too, so "help me, help you."

I'm glad I held out for TWC to get the deal done, especially since DTV doesn't have a deal yet. SECN will be added to basic tier digital tv for TWC.

Obviously, but why would they go to the trouble/cost if DTV is going to have in soon.

Is anyone else getting Sunday Ticket anytime soon?

Because you want to get as many of their customers to switch as long as DTV wants to drag their feet. Those promotions don't cost Dish much anyway. Hell, they all run promotions all the time to try to get each others customers to switch.

Are you sure this won't be an additional charge like their "Sports Pass" package. I have TWC too, but don't trust anything they do. We used to get ESPN Classic but now it's an additional charge.

SECN will NOT be on a special tier or sports package on any cable/satellite network. It'll be on the regular TV package. That's been a requirement the SEC has been adamant about.
