Let me preface thisby saying that I was in college during the Croom years, so actually using timeouts is a new philosophy to me, as is redshirting players and winning.

But we had 2 timeouts after we cut the lead to 7 in the 4th quarter. Why didn't we use those when Auburn was on offense? The clockwas obviously a huge enemy to us, andafter each play,Auburn ran the play clock down to less than 5 seconds. That cost us what, 35-40seconds? twice?

It clearly doesn't save us that much when we use them on offense because we would run hurry-up anyway - it would probably cost us 20-25 seconds per play, max. Plus you have the option of spiking the ball if we needto huddle and make sure everyone understands the play call.

Again, maybe I am missing an obvious benefit to having 2 timeouts rather thanan extra25-30 seconds left on the clock.</p>
