Was that not the dumbest **** you've ever seen since the last time you watched a Sylvester Croom coached game?

Damn Croom, put down the shovel. Call timeout on 4th down so we can call a punt play. Did somebody mistake the game clock for the play clock? Nevermind that a competent punter could have benefited from a delay of game at that spot on the field.

.....our players win what few games they do despite the coaching staff, and I know others have said the same thing.

But hey, Crxxms said after the game that he didn't listen to us minority of naysayers, and he and his team kept believing and now look where they are(2-4). Take that you negative nellies!

...that the timeout was so we could kick with the wind before flipping the field in the 4th quarter.

why Croom would choose to abandon the run when we got behind in a game & try to pass his way out of the hole. Hell, even the Kang said he would run Dixon until he gave out. I guess Croom had a new gut feeling that he determined was not gas or indigestion.

I thought it was the right call. Winds were sustained at 10 mph, and gusting faster... In a field position game like that, it was the right call.... Oh, and our punter just punted TWO PUNTS LESS THAN 20 YARDS!!!

uh.... the ball was at the 50 yard line. I don't think the wind was going to matter either way. Maybe he was thinking kicking with the wind would stretch another 4 yard punt into a 14 yard punt. At that point in the game it was a bad call. Kicking from the 50 the wind wasn't a factor. It is a tight game and odds are you are going to need that timeout in the 4th quarter. The list of coaches who would have called a timeout in that situation is probably about 1. Good news is it worked out and was a non-issue.

if you have a dependable punter, maybe, but with him, hell, you could waste the TO and he could still punt one 4 yards or through the end zone.

the TO was not needed. Punting from the 50 made no friggin difference either way. If we had needed that timeout with two minutes to go it would have been a typical Croom mistake. It worked out today.

Exactly, and I think we were inside the 50 on the 45 actually, so the wind wouldn't have made a difference. If they go ahead in the 4th quarter, we might've needed those timeouts.

considering we were punting from inside the 50, wouldnt have been better to punt aGAINST the wind to help make sure the ball didnt go into the end zone?

after the game and he said that Douglas called the timeout and that Croom was not pleased about it.

What most of you are missing is that we should have had the wind in the 4th quarter anyway. Vandy got the ball at the beginning of the 2nd half thus giving us the option of which goal to defend. We chose to have the wind in the 3rd quarter, thus giving them the wind in the fourth. Also the wind was coming from the student endzone therefore it could have given Vandy the oppurtunity to kick a late fg with the wind on the opposite end from our student section.
