Blue Ridge - Lord Botetourt
River Ridge - Salem
Seminole - E. C. Glass
Piedmont - George Washington
Three Rivers - Glenvar or Radford

I’m not sure enough about the membership of the other districts to make a guess, without looking it up at the moment.

THEQB1 - you stated in another thread that you’re high on Pulaski County, and you’ve picked them a couple of times now. I’m not in the least interested in starting any kind of argument, and everyone has a right to their opinion. I’m just interested in hearing your reasons. PC will lose what appeared to me to be their two best players in Akers and Horton, plus several senior linemen, if I’m not mistaken. If Blacksburg and Salem both return who I think they will, both would seem to be more talented than the Cougars. And I think Salem’s JV was undefeated last fall, so there should be a little help on the way there. Plus, it’s getting close to a decade since PC cracked the code on beating Salem.

Anyway, I’m not flat out saying you’re wrong; you might very well end up being right. It’s all a guessing game. I’m just interested in the thought process. What’s got you gobbling up stock in the Cougars? Thanks!

Thanks for your response Spartan and I appreciate the debate. To be completely honest with you I have picked them for two reasons. 1) To go against the grain and pick a non favorite. 2) because I really do think they have a solid core returning and they have good depth within the program. The cougars return an experienced defense and they were physical last year. I think with some help and the cards falling in the right order they could pull off the upset in the district. I see no real drop off with Salem but with the coaching change it is potentially the best time to pick against them. Of course the Bruins will be solid even with the loss of some key pieces. It will be a good race to see who comes out on top this season in the River Ridge.

I agree that while all us Spartan fans anticipate a smooth transition under the new head coach, we can’t take it for granted that there won’t be any on-field hiccups. The wheels should keep on turning, but I won’t just assume that will happen. Any time a team changes head coaches, even under the most painless of circumstances, that does provide something of a question to be answered. So, I understand your rationale there.

This makes me wish it were four months from now. I could also skip allergy season that way!
