191 yrds passing, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 12 carries for 66 yards. Next week he will be in Blacksburg and we'll be talking about that result in comparison to how well the Hokies did (are doing) against UT.

Well I don't think I'm wrong on towels being a bad QB and we've seen barker is capable. I also think he's worlds more talented than Towles ever will be. But I did jump the gun and rubbed it in too early and too much. Poking fun more than anything but some took it the wrong way. Was just excited as hell to see us dominating and him performing.

That he's gone? Hell yes. Should he have been yanked earlier last season? Hell yes. Is this a stupid thread? Hell Y..

After UL last year and this season thus far there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to back this up yet.

We definitely disagree on this subject. PT had accuracy issues and poor pocket presence but he showed world's better than what Barker has shown thus far with a crappier oline and wr's who just quit on him.

We'll see. I never saw Towles look at good as barker in the first half of SoMiss.

Mizzou game Towles was fantastic
Auburn game was a great game by Towles except one bad int in endzone
Towles and Baker single handily kept UK from losing to EKU
Towles game at UF 2 years ago was really good showing
Towles game vs. Miss St two years ago was one of best individual performances in UK QB history...running and throwing for TDs.

Pat really had some accuracy issues at bad times....but he never put up a garbage game like Drew did today. That was a terrible performance no matter how you slice it.

Some of our fans are either really dumb or have a very short memory.

The question shouldn't be which of these two was less bad than the other (because you can't seriously make a case for either proving they're anything other than bad); but rather why is it that Stoops has had 2 highly rated quarterbacks in what's supposed to be a QB friendly offense under 3 different coordinators and they've both looked woefully unable and unprepared.

At some point you have to realize we've changed every variable except the head coach and we've gotten the same result each time.

I never understood the vitriol against Patrick Towles. Drew Barker had proved nothing. How often does the state of KY produce QBs the caliber of Towles and Barker? And we went and ran one of them off and will do the same with Barker if he continues to play this way.

The reason our team is perpetually terrible is that the fan base is perpetually impatient and every year has to find somebody to blame. Sometimes there is nobody to blame. Sometimes you just don't have it. It takes a team. It takes time to build a complete team. Our O-line has the talent but needs time. .
---
Good God! You're actually blaming the fans for this perpetual stink pot! The AD, coaches & players ought to kiss the feet of every fan that attends one of these horrible, horrible exhibitions. And how much more time are you suggesting we give a team that seems to get worse as the talent level goes up? Would 100 years suit you? Buddy, my first game was in 1969 & I don't have too much more time to give.

Amen.

Everyone REALLY needs to stop blaming the fans. God bless anyone who can continue taking the beating of cheering for this pathetic program. As UK football fans, we take a lot of crap for a large portion of our fanbase only caring about basketball.

But after garbage like this, who can blame them? And if they do support the football team, they get to watch the team crap the bed and then have to hear people blame them for only following basketball. At least the basketball program doesn't routinely embarrass us. Does anyone have to wonder why fans wouldn't want to spend their time and money on THAT??

To me and many others, football is just a more entertaining game than basketball...except when it comes to our beloved Wildcats. There's nothing entertaining about watching my team get the dog poop kicked out of them and not even seeming to care. There's nothing entertaining about a pompous AD who has our program in the current condition it's in and refuses to even take any responsibility for it.

There's plenty of blame to go around for the debacle that is Kentucky football, but the fans don't deserve any of it.

That's actually exactly the attitude I'm talking about. You can say we should win right now all you want, but it doesn't give us depth at D-line or O-line. It doesn't give us experience at QB. It doesn't give us ****. Just because you want to win now, doesn't mean it's going to happen. People like you who go to games expecting a coach to snap his fingers and suddenly turn our dumpster fire of a program into a winner are just unrealistic. All the while you boo in the stands when our QB misses an open reciever, or our defense gives up a frustrating 3rd down. Making any remenial strides they make seem irrelevant because all they remember is that one play that made their own fans turn on them.

Vandy, Southern Miss and Louisville can do it but we can't?

Zero player development in 4 years?

Snap of fingers is 4 years or more?

Is the entire Stoops family posting here tonight?

So you think the regression we're seeing in Stoops 4th season is the naturally progression toward a successful program?

Do the players on the field appear to be well coached to you?

What year do you expect Stoops to make a Bowl? 5, 6, or 7?

Well, I'm converted on the spot! I should have gone to my first game in 1949 instead of 1969....Wait a minute, I wasn't born until 1955, so I really can't help that. And my obviously wrong observation that this year 4 team looks worse than the year 1 team, has now been corrected, I can now see that I just should expect incremental improvements in 4 years. Those last two 5 win seasons sure raised unfair expectations! You're also right about this coaching staff needing more time, too, I say, give them 15 years & if they still haven't made a bowl game, give them 5 more!!

If Stoops makes a bowl game then, it's only because they've added 20 new bowl games.

Patrick Towles wasn't "awful" or "terrible". More like inconsistent...

He ranks 6th in UK passing yardage, and 2nd for QBs who played only 3 years.

UK Career QB Passing Yardage
1 Jared Lorenzen 10,354 (4 years)
2 Andre' Woodson 9,360 (4 years)
3 Tim Couch 8,435 (3 years)
4 Mike Hartline 5,680 (4 years)
5 Bill Ransdell 5,564 (4 years)
6 Patrick Towles 5,099 (3 years)
7 Rick Norton 4,514 (3 years)
8 Babe Parilli 4,351 (3 years)
